• The Buckeyes are coming off an unplanned bye week, as last Saturday’s contest against Denver inside Ohio Stadium was cancelled with a winter storm cancelled over 1,300 fl ights out of Denver.

• Ohio State brings is one of the nation’s top-ranked off enses to Saturday’s game. The Buckeyes have scored 11 or more goals in all six games thus far and are No. 11 nationally in scoring off ense (13.83 goals/game).

• Jack Myers (12 goals, 12 assists, 24 points), Tre Leclaire (20 goals, two assists, 22 points) and Jack Jasinski (16 goals, seven assists, 23 points) have been the Buckeyes’ most consistent off ensive threats. As a group, the unit has the nation’s third highest shooting percentage (.392).

• Goalie Josh Kirson has started fi ve of this season’s six games with a 8.76 goals-against average and .593 save percentage. The defense in front of him consists of Matt Borges (19 ground balls, seven caused turnovers), Jeff Henrick (six caused turnovers) and Joey Salisbury (two consecutive starts).

The No. 5 Ohio State men’s lacrosse team looks to continue its hot start to the season on Saturday when it makes the trip to South Bend, Ind. to face No. 11 Notre Dame at Arlotta Stadium. Opening face-off is slated for 1 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.

BUCKEYES IN A NUTSHELL• Ohio State enters Saturday’s game with a 6-0 record and is ranked No. 5 in the latest USILA Coach’s Poll. The Buckeyes are No. 7 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and No. 5 in the US Lacrosse Magazine poll.• The Buckeyes are off to their 6-0 start thanks to stellar play in all four area: of-fense, defense, face-off and in goal. Ohio State ranks in the top 15 nationally in both scoring off ense (11th – 13.80 goals per game), scoring defense (12th – 9.33 goals/game), 12th in face-off win percentage (.600) and goalie Josh Kirson is fourth in save percentage (.593) and seventh in goals-against average (8.76).• On off ense, Ohio State has enjoyed bal-anced scoring as fi ve players already have 10+ points and three have reach 20 or more. Jack Myers is tops amongst Big Ten freshmen averaging 4.80 points per game and leads the team with 24 total points on 12 goals and 12 assists. In the last three games, he’s produced 16 points (10 goals, six assists).• Tre Leclaire has a team-high 20 goals and has multiple goals in all six games thus far. Senior Jack Jasinski, meanwhile, has 23 points on 16 goals and seven assists. Sophomore Jackson Reid checks in with 16 points (12 goals, four assists) while Colby Smith’s six goals and six assists gives him 12 points.• Much of Ohio State’s success on off ense has been due to its off ensive effi ciency. The Buckeyes rank third nationally with a .392 shooting percentage. Individually, fi ve play-ers are shooting .350 or better.• Ohio State’s defense is second in the conference, allowing 9.33 goals per game and has held its last two opponents to less than 10. • Justin Inacio is 13th in the country in face-off percentage at .629 and fourth in ground balls per game (10.17). Over the last three games, Inacio is winning nearly 70 percent of the face-off s that he’s taken (48-of-70, .680).• Ohio State is coming off an unplanned bye week, as last Saturday’s originally scheduled contest at home against Denver was cancelled when over 1,300 fl ights out

of the Denver area were cancelled due to a major snowstorm.

SCOUTING NOTRE DAME• Ranked No. 11 in this week’s USILA Coaches Poll and Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, Notre Dame is 4-2 on the year and coming off a 12-9 win over Michigan on Tuesday night. • The Irish lost a tough back-and-forth contest at No. 9 Virginia last Saturday, 13-11. Notre Dame built a 10-5 lead in the third quarter before Virginia went on a seven-goal run to take a 12-10 advantage with fi ve minutes remaining.• Notre Dame features one of the nation’s top 25 off enses, which averages 12.30 goals per game and, like Ohio State, is among the best in the country at shooting. The Irish are No. 5 nationally, shooting .339. • Three players have scored double fi gure goals already for Notre Dame – Bryan Costabile (12), Brendan Gleason (13), Brian Willetts (12) and Connor Morin (10). Gleason currently leads the team with 18 points.• In the face-off X, Charles Leonard is at 56 percent on the year, having won 74 of 132 draws. He also leads the team with 38 ground balls.• The Irish defense is allowing 9.50 goals per game and goalie Matt Schmidt has played 352:03 so far with a .476 save percentage, 50 total stops and a 9.37 goals against average.• Notre Dame opened the season with a 19-6 win at Detroit Mercy before dropping a 9-8 decision at Richmond. Wins over Maryland (14-13 in OT) and Denver (10-7 in San Diego, Calif.) followed by the results vs. Virginia and Michigan.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING• Ohio State ranks in the top 15 nationally in four major statistical categories – scoring off ense (11th – 13.83 goals/game), scoring defense (12th – 9.33 goals/game), face-off percentage (14th – .600) and shooting per-centage (third – .392). The Buckeyes are one of just two teams in the country to be ranked in the top 15 in both scoring off ense and scoring defense.• Goalie Josh Kirson is among the top ten in two key stats – save percentage (fourth – .593) and goals-against average (seventh – 8.76).• Jack Myers’ 4.80 points per game is the most among freshmen nationally. The next highest is Darian Cook (Brown), who is averaging 4.17 ponts/game.

HISTORY AGAINST THE IRISH• The Ohio State-Notre Dame game is amongst the most played in Buckeye program history. Saturday will be the 58th meeting between the two teams.• Five of the last nine meeting have been decided by one goal, including last year’s 9-8 win for the Irish at Ohio Stadium.• Ohio State owns 10 wins all-time in South Bend, most recently in 2004, a 9-8 victory that was clinched when Ben Wolff scored with 12 seconds remaining in regulation.• The Buckeyes and Irish have played every year since 1981. From 1996 through 2009, they were members of the Great Western Lacrosse League together.

WINNING WAYS• Saturday’s game will match two of the winningest teams in Division I men’s la-crosse since the start of the 2015 season.• In the last four-plus seasons, Ohio State is seventh with 49 victories while Notre Dame is 10th with 45.• Ohio State’s .644 winning percentage since 2015 is 10th-best nationally and Notre Dame’s .687 is No. 8.

HEAD COACH NICK MYERSIn 10 seasons at the helm of the Ohio State men’s lacrosse program, head coach Nick Myers has taken the Buckeyes to places they’ve never been before. And through his tireless eff orts – and those of his coaching staff – he also has Ohio State primed for even greater heights moving forward. Over his fi rst 10 seasons, Myers has posted a 93-70 ledger overall and a 32-23 conference record. Ohio State’s ascension culminated with a trip to the 2017 Final Four and national championship game. Myers also has the programs fi rst postseason title on his resume (2013 ECAC Tournament championship), in addition to two Creator’s Trophy titles, a share of a league regular-season title, a spot in the NCAA quarterfi nals three times (2013, ’15, ‘17) and to a No. 3 seed in the 2013 and 2017 NCAA Tournaments. Under his tutelage, members of the program have garnered 21 USILA All-America honors, 44 all-conference nods and 11 conference player of the year accolades. Over the past 10 years, members of the Ohio State squad have earned 174 Academic All-Big Ten accolades and 243 Ohio State Scholar-Athlete nods, along with the fi rst 12 USILA Scholar All-American selections in program history. The team’s community service numbers rise each year, with the program volunteering more than 2,500 hours in the community the last six seasons combined. In 2018, Myers and the Buckeyes played their best lacrosse in the fi nal month of the season, rallying to knock off No. 20 Michigan, No. 1 Maryland and No. 9 Rutgers in three consecutive weeks to earn a birth to the Big Ten Tournament. In the process, Myers also became the winningest coach in program history, notching his 93rd career triumph in a 10-7 victory over the Scarlet Knights. Myers and his staff coached a Big Ten Freshmen of the Year (Justin Inacio) for the second consecu-tive season while also producing four USILA All-Americans: Ben Randall (fi rst team), Ryan Terefenko (third team), Tre Leclaire (honorable men-tion) and Erik Evans (honorable mention). Myers’ 2017 team put together a memorable run that resulted in the program’s fi rst-ever trip to Championship Weekend. The Buckeyes set a school record by winning 16 games and by virtue of a 16-11 win over Duke in the NCAA Quarterfi nals, advanced to the Final Four. Along the way, several of Myers’ players earned recognition: junior defenseman Ben Randall became the fi rst Buckeye in program history to be a USILA First Team All-American while faceoff spe-cialist Jake Withers earned second team honors, Tre Leclaire and Tom Carey were third team selections and Eric Fannell and Ryan Terefenko were honorable mention choices. The four fi rst/second/third team honorees are a program best. During the Summer of 2016, Myers led Team USA to the gold medal at the FIL Under-19 World Championship. The squad was 6-0 in the tournament and rallied from an 8-2 defi cit in the championship game to win the title, Team USA’s eighth consecu-tive gold medal. The 2016 the Buckeyes (7-8) took on a Top 20 team in eight of their fi nal nine games and had fi ve one-goal decisions. Buckeyes claimed half of the Big Ten Player of the Year awards, with Robby Haus named defensive player of the year and Jake Withers receiving specialist honors; both were also named First Team All-Big Ten. Haus, who was a Third Team All-American, was joined by Carter Brown as USILA Scholar All-Americans. The Show-down in The Shoe, which had a crowd of nearly 55,000 by the end of the game, saw the Buckeyes post their fi fth consecutive win over Michigan. Twenty-four Buckeyes represented the program at the Scholar-Athlete Dinner and 14 were named to the Academic All-Big Ten squad. In 2015, Myers led the Buckeyes into a new era, as the Big Ten Conference sponsored men’s lacrosse for the fi rst time. Ohio State, which ended the year 12-7 overall (3-2 B1G), advanced to the inaugural Big Ten Tournament championship game and earned an at-large spot in the NCAA

Tournament. In the fi rst round of the NCAA tourney, the Buckeyes went on the road and defeated two-time defending cham-pion Duke before falling in the quarterfi nals to eventual national champion Denver. Dur-ing the season, the Buckeyes claimed the Creator’s Trophy with road wins over Penn State and Michigan and topped three of the NCAA semifi nalists while also hosting the Showdown in The Shoe before a crowd of more than 44,000 by the end of the game. Three Buckeyes earned USILA All-America accolades, as Jesse King and Haus were named to the third team and Tom Carey was an honorable mention choice, while fi ve were recognized by the Big Ten, with King and Brown named First Team All-Big Ten. Academically, 24 Buckeyes were invited to the Scholar-Athlete Dinner, with 15 earning a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten Team, and Turner Evans and Christo-pher May both were named USILA Scholar All-Americans. In 2014, the Buckeyes (6-8) shared the ECAC regular season title in the last year competing in the conference, posting a 3-1 league ledger and earning a spot in the conference tournament. The Showdown in the Shoe returned to Ohio Stadium, with the Buckeyes downing Michigan in front of more than 31,000 fans prior to the Ohio State football spring game. Joe Meurer was named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and led eight Buckeyes as all-conference selections. Meurer and King, a Tewaaraton Award Top 25 candi-date, earned USILA All-America accolades, with King on the third team and Meurer an honorable mention pick. Meurer also was named a Scholar All-American by the USILA. The 2013 campaign was one of the best in program history, posting a 13-4 ledger

for the most wins for a Buckeye team since 1978. Ten of the victories were during the regular season, just the fi fth time a Buckeye team hit double-digit wins before entering postseason play. The squad downed both Penn State and Michigan on the road to claim the Creator’s Trophy for the fi rst time. Wins over ranked opponents Loyola and Denver lifted the Buckeyes to the ECAC tournament crown and the No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament. Nearly 2,400 fans – a number that ranked fourth nationally among all fi rst-round sites – watched the Buckeyes beat Towson 16-6 to advance to the NCAA quarterfi nals for the second time in school history. Individually, Logan Schuss became the program’s all-time leading goal scorer and a two-time ECAC Off ensive Player of the Year, as well as the fi rst Buckeye to earn fi rst team all-conference accolades four times. Schuss was a second team All-American and Dominique Alexander, King and Meurer all were named honorable mention All-Americans, just the second time in program history four Buckeyes were recognized and the fi rst time since 2008. Three Buckeyes – Schuss, Alexander and Trey Wilkes – were named USILA Scholar All-Americans. The 2012 campaign saw the Buckeyes (8-7) earn a spot in the ECAC tournament semifi nals after fi nishing second in the regular season with a 5-1 league ledger. Schuss was named the ECAC Off ensive Player of the Year and joined Joe Bonanni on the USILA All-America third team, with four Buckeyes named to the All-ECAC team. Matt Kawamoto and Bonanni became the fi rst USILA Scholar All-Americans in program history. In 2011, the Buckeyes (8-8) earned a spot in the inaugural ECAC tournament.

PROUDThe team was 5-2 at home, including a 13-8 upset of No. 3-ranked North Carolina Feb. 19 in Ohio Stadium, the program’s fi rst win over a Top 3 opponent in history. A record 28 Buckeyes were invited to the Scholar-Athlete dinner, with a league-high 10 Ohio State players named to the ECAC All-Aca-demic team. Kawamoto, a USILA Honorable Mention All-American, picked up ECAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades and was one of four Buckeyes named to the all-conference teams. In 2010, the Buckeyes (7-8) faced one of the toughest schedules in the nation as they began play as a member of the ECAC Lacrosse League. The squad had a 5-2 ledger at home, and highlighting the home slate was the third-annual Showdown in The Shoe when the Buckeyes topped Air Force with an NCAA record attendance of 31,078. Schuss was named ECAC Rookie of the Year and became the fi rst Buckeye freshman to nab All-America honors after leading the ECAC in points per game and was one of two Buckeyes recognized on the all-conference team. In 2009, his fi rst season at the helm of the Buckeye program, Myers led Ohio State (8-8) to a spot in the Great Western Lacrosse League championship game after a third-place fi nish in the league’s regular-season standings despite losing two All-Americans and four all-conference selec-tions from the 2008 squad that reached the

NCAA quarterfi nals. Senior All-American Joel Dalgarno, who fi nished his career as Ohio State’s all-time leading goal scorer and ranked second all-time in points, led the GWLL and was sixth nationally with 3.81 points per game. In all, seven Buckeyes were named all-conference, with two fi rst team selections. As the top assistant under Joe Bres-chi at Ohio State from 2006-08, Myers served as the off ensive coordinator for the Buckeyes, oversaw recruiting and handled other aspects of the day-to-day operation of the men’s lacrosse program. In 2008, Myers helped guide the Buckeyes to a share of the Great Western Lacrosse League regular-season title and an at-large berth into the NCAA tourna-ment. The team downed Cornell on the road for the program’s fi rst NCAA tourna-ment victory and berth in the quarterfi nal round. He was the off ensive coordinator as the Buckeyes ended the season third in the NCAA in scoring off ense (13.2 goals per game) and extra-man off ense (45.7 percent). Myers began his coaching career as the volunteer coach for the Buckeyes for two seasons (2002, ’03) and was on the Buck-eye staff when the squad earned a spot in the NCAA tournament in 2003, the fi rst appearance in program history, and shared the GWLL title. He spent the 2004 and ’05 campaigns

as the top assistant coach at Butler before rejoining the Buckeye staff in 2006. Myers played for Springfi eld College in Massachusetts, earning Division III All-America honors in 2001. He was a three-time All-NEWMAC selection and was the 2000 conference player of the year. Myers graduated from Springfi eld with a degree in sports studies/physical educa-tion in 2001. In 2016 he was named to the inaugural Springfi eld College 40 Under 40 class. A native of Kennebunk, Maine, Myers graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1997. He was a two-time high school All-American and participated in the 1997 North-South All-Star Game. Myers married the former Julie Cowles, also a Springfi eld College graduate. The couple lives in Columbus with their sons, Mason and Zachary.Myers’ brother, Pat, was a four-year let-terwinner for the Buckeyes from 2000-03, a two-time All-Great Western Lacrosse League honoree and the conference rookie of the year in 2000. He has been an as-sistant coach at North Carolina, Cornell, Bucknell and Penn and was hired in June as the head coach at Lafayette College.

A fast-starting Ohio State off ense scored seven fi rst-quarter goals and opened up a 10-3 halftime lead en route to a 17-10 victory over Boston University on Saturday inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

A week after combining for six goals in a season-opening win over Cleveland State, the tandem of Jack Jasinski and Tre Leclaire was at it again. Jasinski and Leclaire combined to score nine times – a career-high fi ve goals from Jasinski and four from Leclaire. Tre Leclaire’s four goals and a 17-save performance by Josh Kirson lifted No. 13 Ohio State to an 11-7 victory on Saturday over Massachusetts at Garber Field.

Leclaire’s off ensive performance was backed up by two goals and two assists from Jack Jasinski and a one-goal, three-assist eff ort from Jack Myers. Jackson Reid, Ryan Terefenko, Colby Smith and Johnny Wiseman all added scores as well. Justin Inacio was also key to the Buckeyes’ eff ort, winning 14 of 22 face-off s. It was his eight straight game with 10 or more wins, dating back to the 2018 season.

Freshman Jack Myers made his fi rst game in Ohio Stadium one to remember, as he scored seven times and added an assist to help No. 11 Ohio State earn a hard-fought 16-13 victory over Bucknell.

Myers’ seven goals – tied for the seventh highest in single-game history and the most since Logan Schuss scored seven vs. Detroit in 2013 – was backed up by hat tricks from Jack Jasinski and Colby Smith (3G, 2A, 5 points). The Buckeyes scored 11 times in the second and third quarters to build a 14-6 lead and then survived a late Bucknell rally.

A fi ve-goal performance from sophomore Jackson Reid, coupled with a strong defense eff ort in front of goalie Josh Kirson, lifted the ninth-ranked Ohio State men’s lacrosse team to a 13-9 victory over Marquette on Saturday in the Patriot Cup at SMU’s Ford Stadium.

Jackson’s fi ve-goal showing was backed up by a hat trick from junior Tre Leclaire, who now has a team-high 16 goals on the season. Ryan Terefenko also got into the act with a pair of goals, three ground balls and one caused turnover. Senior Jack Jasinski notched multiple points for the fi fth straight contest, fi nishing with a goal and three assists.

Ohio State got goals from seven diff erent players and used a 10-0 run in the second and third quarters to earn a 14-8 victory over Hofstra on Saturday at James M. Shuart Stadium. It was the Buckeyes’ fi rst-ever victory over Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y.

Tre Leclaire scored four goals while freshman Jack Myers added six points (three goals, three assists) to lead a well-balanced of-fense that scored 10 times over a 23-minute span to build a 14-4 fourth-quarter lead. Jackson Reid, coming off a career-high fi ve goals last week, scored twice and added an assist while Jack Jasinski, Johnny Wiseman, Nick Musci and Justin Inacio all found the back of the net.
