ROUGHAlways conscientious of the worker’s safety, Solmax designed the R3 Series with a textured top side. This liner will offer any personnel working on the jobsite, a stable footing to ensure workers safety, even in extreme conditions.

Solmax R3 Series has been independently tested as per the Floor Slip Test. This is the standard that has been developed to evaluate the risk of slippage of different types of flooring surface. The test consists of a simulated foot, attached to a pendulum that will brush against the flooring material and lose some altitude on the other side. The more friction, there is, the lower it will go on the other side and the higher the test value will be. The following table shows the results on wet surface for the R3 Series, compared with other standard floorings:

Solmax’s R3 Series’ ROUGH texture gives it a high friction coefficient and makes it a safer surface to work on, even when wet.

The R3 Series smooth underside will facilitate the deployment of the liner.

RESISTANT

Solmax’s R3 Series, being made of HDPE, is one of the most chemically resistant liner. Its inert state makes it compatible with most chemicals, at any pH and very resistant at high temperatures. Solmax’s R3 Series is also certified EPA 9090, thus it is not chemically affected by Flowback water.

RECYCLABLE Recycling is an emerging concern in projects’ life cycle assessments and evaluation of environmental impacts.

Solmax’s R3 Series is entirely recyclable and one of the most recyclable products in the oil and gas industry. Being made of polyethylene resin with a PIC* number that ranges from 2 to 4, it can be easily handled by any recycling program.

SAFETY FIRST While the perimeter berm offers optimal containment for leaks and spills, it is a tripping hazard for onsite workers.

The R3 Series has a “safety green” underside specifically for this need. Typical installation of the perimeter berm has the liner wrapped around it and extrusion welded to the upper side of the liner. This installation method exposes the underside of the liner. With a visible “safety green” perimeter berm, workers can avoid the tripping hazards, thus reducing the risks of incidents on site.

The “safety green” perimeter berm also defines working areas, acting as signalisation to clearly distinguish various sections on a jobsite.

The R3 Series’ elasticity, combined with its good puncture resistance, makes it the optimal choice to resist the heavy traffic generated by the Oil & Gas activities. As per ASTM D5514, the Critical Cone Height test, which was developed to simulate real life puncture due to stones or others elements present on location the R3 Series is the most resistant liner available on the market.

*The PIC is an internationally recognized coding system that identifies the type of resin in the plastic as well as its recyclability.5
