The Oklahoma Board of Nursing held its fifth regular meeting of FY 2017 on March 21, 22 & 23,

2017. Notice of the meeting was filed with the Secretary of State’s Office on December 9, 2016.

Notice/agenda was posted outside the meeting room at the Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown, 1

North Broadway Avenue, 2nd Floor Ballroom, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and on the Oklahoma

Board of Nursing website. A notice/agenda was also posted on the Cameron Building front entrance

at 2915 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City, as well as the Board office, 2915 N. Classen Blvd., Suite

1.5.5 Changes in Schools/Programs

(a) Dr. Jasmin Johnson has resigned from the position of Traditional

Program Chair for St. Gregory’s University Baccalaureate Degree

Nursing Education Program, Shawnee. Dr. Johnson has assumed a

faculty position. The Community Builder, Dr. Wanda Robinson, will

lead a team to distribute and address chair duties until a new Chair is

appointed.

(b) Gay Pearce, RN, BS, is the new Director of the Platt College PN

Nursing Education Program, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Moore, Lawton,

replacing herself as Interim Director for Moore and Lawton, and Jan

Sinclair, Interim Director, Oklahoma City.

(c) Janet Trimble, BSN, RN has been appointed as Interim Director for

Northeast Technology Center, Practical Nursing Education Program,

Year 2017 via the agency Dashboard report (attachment #11).

K. Glazier reported there were no meetings with members of the Oklahoma Legislature since the last

meeting of the Board, although some contact has occurred during education outreach as it relates to

the Oklahoma Board of Nursing requested legislation, HB1886.

K. Glazier reported there were no meetings with members of the Oklahoma Executive Branch since

the last meeting of the Board.

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing considered and approved the grant proposal. Work

is ongoing to set up the contractors for the data integrity project. The Enhanced Nurse Licensure

Compact (eNLC) will become effective when 26 states have passed law adopting the compact or

December 31, 2018, whichever occurs soonest.

K. Glazier reported on legislation the agency is tracking. K. Glazier gave a verbal report only with no discussion on the following: Board Member appointment

criteria has been submitted to the various nursing associations and also provided to current Board

Members for 1 RN and 1 LPN position, one of which must represent long term care. Pro Tem Board
