CertificateParticipants will earn an Emerging Leader in Manufacturing Certificate after completion of 8 sessions. This certificate is worth up to 2.4 CEU’s (24 hours) for eight sessions. Individual sessions are worth .3 CEU credits.

Programs Available at Your ConvenienceAll sessions will be released on July 1, 2020. You can watch the interactive online sessions as you wish (all at once, once a week, etc.) There will be a live ZOOM session with the instructor and participants for each topic on the indicated date at 9 a.m. The participants are encouraged to ask questions and discuss how you will use what you learned. Each session emphasizes practicality and implementing behaviors and new techniques learned in your job.

Registration Fee and Materials$250 per session per person or a discounted fee of $2,000 for all 10 sessions per person (20% discount). For 3 or more attendees from the same company registered for all 10 sessions, $1,800 per person (28% discount). Fee includes assessments, case studies, and instruction.

As an emerging leader, you are transitioning from an individual contributor to a managerial role with more responsibility. This is a challenging career step. New managers are eager to face these challenges and this multi-day certificate program, offered over several months, will help you reflect on the leadership style that works best for you and your employees.

As you grow as a leader, it is important to have self-awareness and build your individual business skills and your leadership skills. You will also focus on developing, managing, and communicating within your team. The organizational development sessions will integrate elements to help you achieve your professional and organization’s goals.

2020 Certificate for Emerging Leaders in Manufacturing

Program completion is required in order to receive the OSU Emerging Leaders in Manufacturing Digital Badge that can be added to your portfolio. The badge will note the sessions covered and will serve as a validation of accomplishments, skills, and quality you have learned throughout this program.

In order to receive a certificate of completion, the participant must attend at least 90% of the program.

OSU InstructorsRAJ BASU, Ph.D. is on the Management faculty in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. Additionally, he is the faculty advisor for President’s Leadership Society at Oklahoma State University – Tulsa. Prior to returning to faculty, Dr. Basu served 15 years as the Vice-President for Academic Affairs for OSU –Tulsa. Dr. Basu researches and teaches in the areas of leadership, employee performance, coaching, team performance, conflict management, and negotiations. He received his MBA from Duke University and his Ph.D. from Purdue University.

MATT BOWLER, Ph.D., is an associate professor of management and MBA Director in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University and teaches management topics, including leading change, building social capital, leadership, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations and management skills. Dr. Bowler earned his BS in management and MBA from Missouri State University and Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Kentucky.

DAVID CARTER, Ph.D., is the Greg Massey Professor of Finance in the Department of Finance at Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business where he teaches corporate finance with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheet applications, entrepreneurial finance, and commercial bank management. Dr. Carter has a B.S. in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University, an M.B.A. from Utah State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.

ABBEY DAVIS is currently the Director of the Eastin Center for Career Readiness and an adjunct instructor in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. Before joining OSU, Abbey worked as a full-time corporate HR professional specializing in the areas of talent development, organizational development, performance management and compensation. Abbey received her bachelor’s degree in human resources and MBA from OSU. In 2016, Abbey was recognized as an Outstanding Young Alumni for the Spears School of Business.

BRYAN EDWARDS, Ph.D., is the Associate Director of Research in the Eastin Center for Career Readiness, Joe Synar Chair and Associate Professor of Management in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University, specializing in human resources management and organizational behavior. Dr. Edwards is an expert in selection, training, performance management, leadership, organizational development, and team effectiveness. Dr. Edwards earned his Ph.D. in I/O Psychology from Texas A&M University and is an active member of Academy of Management, Society for Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology, and the Society for Human Resource Management.

MARIBETH KUZMESKI, Ph.D. teaches an integrated marketing course at Oklahoma State University. Maribeth trains organizations on marketing, sales, and persuasive communications strategies. Maribeth’s list of past audiences she has trained and consulted with include Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial-minded corporations, financial services firms, women’s organizations, and industry associations.

MAC MCCRORY, Ed.D., spent 30 years at Oklahoma State University building and directing the nation’s first wellness center, focusing the center’s programs on quality customer service. He is former Vice President for Business and Industry Relations at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City. Dr. McCrory is an Adjunct Instructor for the Department of Management in the Spears School of Business. He is a certified trainer by the National Multicultural Institute in Washington D.C. and is also certified as a True Colors ™ facilitator.

JAMES STAPP is a Lecturer in the Department of Management in the Spears School of Business. He has taught Business Communication courses since 2014. James earned BAs in Strategic Communication and English and a MFA in English from Oklahoma State University. For nearly a decade, James held multiple management positions in both the music and hospitality industries. His research interests include persuasive communication and the science of influence and decision making, and James enjoys presenting his findings and insight to fellow educators and practitioners.
