Old Man and the Sea Essay Read the following prompts carefully. You are encouraged to choose your topic early and record response notes accordingly. Your essay will be at least 5-paragraphs, double-spaced, 12 pt. font. Prewrite due: Day Ten First draft due: Day Twelve Final draft due: Day Fifteen PROMPTS:

• You have now read the book and seen the movie. Your task is to complete a well-crafted persuasive essay that illustrates your stance on whether the book should be read by itself or with the movie. Your essay should include a solid introduction where you not only hook your reader in and present your thesis, but also illustrate your three reasons that support your stance. Your following three paragraphs should state each of your reasons and support for those reasons. Your final paragraph should not only summarize your arguments, but should also send the reader off with a thought that solidifies what you are trying to illustrate.
