Dream 1

Our first dream was based on personal individual dreams that were posed to the whole school. We asked pupils in every year group What is your dream in life? They started with……

I have a dream…… (see video with pupils from each year group answering questions)

Dream 2 Our second dream is to work together

to pursue the journey that takes us to the goals we want out of life. Group activity for Years 7 and 8 expressing dreams and goals that are important to them. Year 5 and 6 viewed these pieces of Artwork on the playground. Timelines were also produced in Humanities lessons, one of which we have scanned in.

Imaginative Writing from a “dream of a child in Stratford”When London actually won the bid, I was at school watching on a small TV screen in our school’s hall with 270 other kids all trying to see. We had a massive party at school when we found out. I knew there and then it would change the area forever. There weren’t many jobs and if there were jobs the wages were low. I knew the games coming to Stratford would give us money or more jobs for the people in the area. Because there were less jobs parents couldn’t afford school fees, my parents couldn’t and so my school life wasn’t great. I thought that some of the money would go to the local schools, giving a better education to the kids in the area. Since the games, the facilities at the parks were converted for public use. I was happy when I found out the Aquatic centre was being used by the public. I dreamt of going to the Olympics and swimming there when I was little. The Olympic Games completely cleaned up the area in Stratford, before then the area was messy with polluted rivers and dumpsites everywhere. As I have mentioned before I dreamt of swimming for England. When I was 5 my parents put money towards a trainer for me and just before the age of 13, 2 years before the Olympics, my trainer said that I could be participating in the actual Games. I never thought it could happen. Of course I accepted and I was well known by the time I was 18 swimming internationally. The Olympics have been amazing for me and for the area in which I grew up in. It gave the local people; money, jobs, tourism, better education and I got to swim for England and help my community.Bryony (Year 8 Age 12)
