School Keeping our bodies moving is very important for our physical and mental health. During this time of self-isolation, it can be difficult to get the daily exercise that we are used to, but we must remember how good our bodies and minds feel after some fun exercise! Whether it’s challenging a family member to some healthy competition or doing some of the fun games below, we want to see how your family is staying #KingCityFit Twitter Activity: What have you been doing to stay physically active? This week the Twitter challenge is a fantastically fun fitness challenge! Check out the video on Twitter and try it yourself. With parent permission, post a short video to twitter @KingCityPS with the hashtag #KingCityFit How many keep ups can you do with a toilet paper roll?

It is easy to get lazy and not want to do much when you are safe at home but unable to get out. Why not challenge your family or friends (on line of course) with this fitness idea. There are a lot of variations of this activity and you can create your own to suit your own fitness goals. You could also challenge family members to see who has to do the dishes…. The person who does the longest wall sit, the most push ups, you get the idea!!

PARENT NOTICE: CANCELLATION OF SCHOOL IMMUNIZATION CLINICS AND IMMUNIZATION OF SCHOOL PUPILS ACT ENFORCEMENT
April 14th, 2020
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In response to the COVID-19 situation a state of emergency has been declared in York Region. All non-essential services have been suspended until further notice and public health staff and resources are being redeployed to work on COVID-19 response. Consequently, the following school-based immunization services have been cancelled for the remainder of the current school year:

We will share details with schools and school boards once plans for school based immunization services are finalized for the 2020-2021 school year, including any plans for catching up students who missed dose two of the grade 7 immunization program this spring.
