Wedding Fashion
Many brides have a good sense of their own fashion preferences. They know what looks good on them. Think about what you wear and why it looks good. What are your fashion preferences? Are you tailored, frilly, feminine, or casual? Do you want a gown that reflects those looks or is your wedding gown to be a complete departure? Think about the “look” you want for your wedding. Look at magazines, check out web sites and make notes of styles that catch your eye. When you go into a wedding salon, one of the questions you’ll be asked is “Do you have any styles in mind?” The wedding consultant who will be assisting you in your selection process will prefer to start with gowns that reflect your personal tastes.
Be honest with yourself about your body shape. If you are tall, you’re lucky. Lots of gowns are made for tall brides. If you are short, you’re lucky. Many designers see the petite bride as their specialty. If you are heavier in the bust, or in the hips, or thighs, or shoulders - be honest with yourself and let the wedding consultant work with you to find the perfect dress to accent or camouflage certain areas.
Give yourself plenty of time to order the gown, be prepared to make a deposit on your order and think carefully before taking a group with you. One person whose taste you respect is truly enough - two tops! It is a special time for you to pick out the gown that means the most to you - not to the cousins, godmothers and sorority friends you’ve gathered to participate in this event.

Of course you want to look your best on this big day! You many have booked a hair stylist for yourself and your bridesmaids. Maybe someone is doing makeup for all. In order for everything to flow, treat this as a true salon appointment and require everyone to be on time for the appointments. Work with the stylists to establish a sensible timeline and insist that your wedding party be on time. Work within the seasons. Although many popular flowers like roses, lilies, Singapore orchids are available all-year round, many other flowers are seasonal, so prices change depending on which month you are getting married in. Flowers can be imported, however this becomes very costly, so it is better to plan your wedding bouquets around the season you are marrying in.

You will be the centerpiece of shots from your photographer as well as every family member who has ever clicked a shutter. To make sure that the pictures are perfect and what you want, taking time to pre plan their role on your day.
Consider these questions
1. How much do you want to spend? Have a figure in mind, as you approach professional photographers. If you want the one with the most impressive portfolio or is considered the best in town, be prepared to pay accordingly.
2. How do you want to remember your wedding? What is your preferred style of photographic memories? Are you fans of formal portraits and posed pictures or are you fans of more casual and candid shots?

The invitation is your guests' first peek at your wedding style. Along with listing the location and time of day, the invitation hints to the formality of your wedding. You should have an idea of the type of event you're throw-ing before you start shopping for stationery. Choose an invitation style that hits the same note. Then browse wedding invitation photos and stationers' websites and gather inspiration so you can give your stationer an idea of what you like.
Stationery is a form of self-expression, so it seems only natural that the experience of choosing it be personal and tactile. There are also benefits to working with a stationer, who can help guide the design, suggest wording, and find ways to cut costs.
How early in the process should a bride choose her invitations?
Once the date has been selected and the ceremony and reception venues are chosen, the inspiration for the wedding elements can begin. Looking through the invitation albums for the colors, fonts and designs is fun! Plan to spend a couple of hours on your first visit to browse and to get informed so that you don’t feel pressure. You can then reflect on what you have seen. Once you finalize your details and guest list, you can select the invitation and place your order. Let your stationer know if you have seen things you like or if you are just starting and are unfamiliar with stationery and wedding invitations in particular.

The basic invitation suite consists of the invitation, outer envelope, reply card and reply card envelope. Everyone starts with those but you may want to ask about other available coordinating items for the wedding like an arrangements card, reception card and maps that can be included with the invitation. Also there are options for wedding programs, escort cards, table cards, gift tags, fans, napkins, cups and favors. Let your stationer know what you need and ask them how they can help.

Look for a location that fits the occasion and requires very little enhancements. Many spots are fine the way they are. If brides wish to ad décor, most event planners would agree that creating one large decorative element is not only dramatic, but also more budget friendly than a dozen smaller elements scattered around the room.
When considering decorating options, always picture the room full. We counsel brides not to spend excess dollars on décor items that only the first few guests walking into the room will see. Don’t waste money on decorating the skirting of any of the tables for instance. As one wedding planner says, “Think tabletop and up”.
During receptions, caterers will say that people tend to take less food if it is passed out by the wait staff than if it is placed on a buffet table. The same is true of champagne or other beverages. The good news about this is that less food or liquor can be ordered and guests still feel pampered.

Dells Boat Tours of Cold Water CanyonCold Water Canyon is a beautiful shady tributary glen that cuts deep into the east bank of the Wisconsin River. The Canyon was formerly one of the regular stops on river excursions offered by Dells Boat Tours. Today, Cold Water Canyon is an exclusive retreat for private excursions, parties and gatherings, and is only offered through Dells Boat Tours. The Canyon provides a variety of locations for ceremonies, such as weddings, and a historic stone building for sit-down meals, meetings and entertainment events. Guests can explore the site on foot via a wooden boardwalk that winds through the unique sandstone cliffs, deep into the canyon lush with beautiful foliage. The dramatic scenery provides a gorgeous backdrop for weddings and special occasions.
The historic stone Pavilion on-site at Cold Water Canyon once served as a concession area. Today, the beautifully restored building is a perfect spot for wedding banquets, family reunions, special occasion dinners, meetings and other private gatherings.
