A one-day workshop on cyber security awareness was held on 16th

October 2015 at Ram Lal Paul Higher

Secondary School, Keishamthong organized by National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology

(NIELIT), Akampat.

The workshop was attended by 139 students and 33 staff members.

The aim of the workshop is to generate mass awareness on Internet, Cyber security, cyber ethics among

students and teachers enabling them to be responsible citizens and participate safely and securely in information

society.

The workshop is being organized as a part of “Creating Mass Cyber Security Awareness among schools,

colleges and government employees” sponsored by DeitY, MCIT, Govt. of India.

Technical session -I was presented by Shri Angom Buboo Singh, Scientist-D, NIELIT, Imphal on the

topic of Cyber Crimes and Computer Security. He spoke about cyber crime trend in India, the importance of

general computer security, how to browse Internet safely and data Security.

Technical session -II was presented by Smt. Usham Sanjota Chanu, Project Associate, NIELIT, Imphal.

She spoke about how computer security and information security protect computer, information and services

from unauthorized access, change or destruction.

Interaction session was conducted by Shri Tongbram Arpan, Project Associate, NEILIT, Imphal. As a

part of Cyber Security Awareness a video which was developed by NIELIT, Imphal was shown to the

participants.
