2005 Furan derivatives R 0060 One-Pot Synthesis of 3-Hydroxymaleic Anhydrides by Cyclization of 1,1-Bis(tri- methylsiloxy)ketene Acetals with Oxalyl Chloride. — The title method is developed for a variety of 1,1- bis(trimethylsilyloxy)ketene acetals with aryl, alkyl, aryloxy or alkyloxy substituents. In the case of alkyl derivatives, the yields increase with the length of the chain.
