Online Enrollment
• Online enrollment will be available beginning November 1, 2013 and will end on November 30, 2013. You will not be able to access online enrollment prior to or after these dates.
You are strongly encouraged to complete your online elections by November 27th as the office will be
closed November 28th, 29th and 30th and enrollment assistance will be unavailable.
2014 Benefit Elections
• If you choose spouse secondary coverage, proof of your spouse’s other primary coverage MUST be provided to Shannon McWilliams in HR by November 27, 2013. If proof is not received by that date, you will be charged the spouse primary rate (with no refund) until proof is provided.
• Copies of insurance cards or paystubs are not acceptable forms of proof of other coverage.
• A list of acceptable forms of proof is on the 2014 Insurance Open Enrollment page on the District website.
• If your spouse is on Medicare, the MCPS plan is primary and Medicare is secondary for your spouse.

1. Browse to http://www.askallegiance.com 2. Click on Online Services 3. Click on Employee Login

4. Enter the MCPS group number: 2000209 5. Click Direct Me to Current Website

6. Enter your Username and Password, check the privacy box, and click Login. *NOTE* If you have an issue logging in, click the Username and Password Help buttons. If you are still unable to get logged in, please contact Allegiance customer service at 1-800-877-1122 Option 4.

7. Click the blue Enrollment link on the left side of the window. 8. Select Open Enrollment. 9. Click Next.

10. Make sure all information on the Personal Information screen is correct and up to date.
11. Select Yes or No to indicate whether you will be enrolling dependents. 12. Click Next.

If you have, or have had dependents enrolled, their information will be displayed on the Dependent Information page. Dependents who have been enrolled on your plan but are not active will have a Status of Terminated and a Termination Date. If they are active their status will say Active and there won’t be a Termination Date.

13. To terminate a dependent’s coverage effective 12/31/2013, click the red “X” next to their information. Their status will change to Terminated. NOTE – their coverage WILL NOT be terminated until 12/31/2013.

14. If a dependent(s) has an Active status, you wish to keep them enrolled, and you do not need to change any of their information, click Next.

15. If a dependent(s) has a Terminated status and you wish to re-enroll them, click the magnifying glass next to their name.

16. Make sure the dependent’s information is correct. You can click the Copy from Participant button to copy your address information to your dependent.

17. Select Yes to indicate the dependent is eligible for benefits. 18. Click Next.

19. The dependent’s status will turn to Active. NOTE – Their coverage WILL NOT become active until 1/1/2014.

20. If you wish to re-enroll any other dependents that have been terminated, click the magnifying glass next to their information and follow steps 16-18 again.

21. When you have re-enrolled all terminated dependents that you wish to re-enroll, click Next.

22. If you need to add a dependent that is not listed, click Add Dependent.

23. Complete all requested information on the Dependent Information screen. You may click the Copy from Participant button to copy your address information to your dependent.
24. Click Next.

25. When all dependents are enrolled that you wish to enroll, click Next.

26. On the Benefit Enrollment screen, select Elect to elect benefits for 2014. If you will be waiving coverage for yourself (and dependents, if applicable) for 2014, select Decline.

27. Select the plan level that applies to you. For the HDHP Plan (NO CostCare $10 co-pay benefit and the option to establish a health savings account), select a plan from the HDHP section.
28. Make sure that if you are electing coverage for dependents, they are checked appropriately in the Dependents section.
29. Click Next.

30. Your dental benefit will automatically reflect the enrollment level you selected for your medical benefit. Click Next.

31. On the Medical Flex Enrollment screen, the Decline button will automatically be selected for you as you are unable to enroll in a medical flex account.
32. Click Next.
Health Savings Account Enrollment
• You will be able to do online enrollment for a health savings account. The account will be established with Health Equity, and information about accessing your funds will be provided by Health Equity after open enrollment.
• For 2014, if you have self-only HDHP coverage, you can contribute up to $3,300. If you have family HDHP coverage you can contribute up to $6,550. If you are an eligible individual who is age 55 or older at the end of your tax year, your contribution limit is increased by $1,000.
• You are responsible for keeping records related to health savings account disbursements.

33. Read all information at the top of the screen. On the Health Savings Account Enrollment screen, select Elect to elect a health savings account for 2014. If you do not want a health savings account, select Decline.
34. Select the plan pay cycle that applies to you. 35. Enter the amount that you wish to contribute per pay period. 36. Click Next.
Day Care Flex Enrollment
• You will be able to do online enrollment for Day Care flex.
• The maximum amount you can flex for day care for 2014 is $5000.
• Be conservative – any amount not spent will be forfeited. Plan to have the money spent by December 31st . You are responsible for checking your account.
• If you will not be flexing over 12, 18 or 24 pay periods, you MUST fill out a paper form (i.e. flexing over 9 months, etc.); contact Shannon McWilliams for assistance.

37. Read all information at the top of the screen. On the Day Care Flex Enrollment screen, select Elect to elect day care flex for 2014. If you will be waiving day care flex for 2014, select Decline.
38. Select the plan pay cycle that applies to you. 39. Enter the amount that you wish to flex per pay period. 40. Click Calculate to see your contribution for 2014.

41. If you wish to enroll in Direct Deposit, click the lower case “i” button next to the plan you selected. You can select the Direct Deposit link and complete the enrollment online. Read all information at the top of the screen prior to doing this.
42. Click Next.
Online Enrollment - Summary
The Enrollment Summary screen will outline the health, health savings account, and day care flex elections you made for 2014. Review this information carefully to ensure accuracy.

43. If all of your enrollment information is correct on the Enrollment Summary screen, click the Finish and Print button at the bottom of the screen to submit your elections. A copy of the summary page will be printed for your records.

• Your 2014 benefits elections will be reviewed and approved/denied.
• Once your benefits are approved, you cannot make further changes online. If you need to change anything after benefits have been approved, contact Shannon McWilliams in HR at x1044 to re-open the online enrollment for you (must be prior to November 27, 2013).
• If your benefits elections are denied, you will be contacted and given further direction.
