Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to inform you that International Veterinary Pathology Congress, 2020, encompassing XXXVIIth Annual Conference of Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists (IAVP), XIth Annual Meeting of Indian College of Veterinary Pathologists (ICVP) and International Symposium on “Advances in Veterinary Pathology for fostering one health, food security and environmental protection” will be jointly organized by Department of Veterinary Pathology, Nagpur Veterinary College, Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Seminary Hills, Nagpur- 440006, Maharashtra, India in association with Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists and Indian College of Veterinary Pathologists from December, 2020 through online mode. The th th 26 to 29 International Veterinary Pathology Congress, 2020 will bring under one umbrella the Veterinary Pathologists, disease diagnosticians, students and scientists from other fields of sciences to share research findings, ideas, and intellectually explore scope of Veterinary Pathology in field of one health, food security and environmental protection. About the host st Nagpur Veterinary College has been established on 1 July 1958 is the constituent college of Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), Nagpur and catering the demand of trained veterinary human resource since last sixty years. The Department of Veterinary Pathology at Nagpur Veterinary College came into existence in July, 1958. The masters courses started from October 2002 onwards, with intake capacity of two and from 2012 Doctoral courses were started. Till now 27 students have successfully completed M.V.Sc. while five completed Ph.D. The Department is actively engaged in teaching, research and extension activities. It has successfully implemented extramural research projects and is well equipped with state of the art facilities for histopathology, molecular diagnosis, cell culture, virus and bacterial isolation. The Department is presently having one ongoing project and has completed four externally funded projects. About Nagpur Nagpur is the second capital and the third largest city of India state of Maharashtra. It derives unique importance from being the headquarters for the RSS and is also known for Deekshabhoomi, the largest hollow stupa among all the Buddhist stupas in the world. Famous for oranges, it is also known as the Orange City for being a major trade centre of oranges. Truly known as 'Tiger Capital' out of total 39 tiger reserve in the country, Vidharba hold about 13 tiger reserves. The place is well connected with rail, road and air from all major places. Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists (IAVP) IAVP was founded in March, 1974 during a scientific get-together of Veterinary Pathologists at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, UP. In the country, at that time in the eve of green revolution, emphasis was largely laid on the necessity of expanding agricultural education. Almost simultaneously the scientist in the field of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry faced challenge on the front of increasing demands for livestock and poultry production. The assembly of pathologists in the form of annual conventions and symposia on the current problems in Veterinary Science was first held at Veterinary College, Bengaluru in 1983 but became an annual feature only after 1986. Indian College of Veterinary Pathologists (ICVP) ICVP was established in 2008 under the aegis of Indian Society for Certification of Veterinary Pathologists as an independent certification organization for personal accreditation in India. It aims for the advancement of Veterinary Pathology and its sub-specializations including Clinical Pathology, Avian Pathology, Aquatic Animal Pathology, Toxicologic-Pathology, Laboratory Animal Pathology etc. by establishing standards of training and experience. The organization was pioneered, conceived and developed by a group of 22 life members of the Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists having recognizable stature in academia, research, industry and practice, identified as Charter Members.
