Lorenzo Zullo, Co-founder and Managing Director, Chemycal, Belgium

Caroline is the NCEC regulatory business area manager, with a wealth of experience in interpreting and implementing legislation relating to hazardous chemical substances. Caroline’s legislative knowledge is wide ranging, covering both supply and transport legislation. This experience has been developed whilst working directly in the chemical industry and through consultancy projects. Caroline is a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) for the transport of hazardous goods by both road and rail and holds a postgraduate certificate in REACH management as well having the NEBOSH qualification. Caroline also sits on two of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) working groups on the IT Tools and Guidance documents for poison centres, meaning that, as well as having the most up to date information, Caroline can also feed industry challenges directly to ECHA. Caroline has key strengths in COSHH, REACH, SDS, CLP, Poison Centres and the transport of dangerous goods as well as the other interlinking chemical legislation.

Diana worked for 20 years in the chemical industry as Laboratory Manager, Quality Manager, Process Engineer. During the last 16 years she worked at the Labour Inspectorate from the Netherlands. First as a chemical safety specialist and later (last 9 years) as a project leader dangerous substances. At this moment she is one of the project leaders in the program Dangerous Substances. Most of her projects are focused on the "health" part of working with dangerous (carcinogenic and mutagenic) substances. REACH included. The aim is that workers are less exposed to dangerous (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic) substances. In the program Dangerous Substances of the Inspectorate different ways of enforcement and interventions are applied. Objective of the program Dangerous Substances is "Road to Zero" (no employee should become ill when working with dangerous substances). One of her achievements is the development and promotion of the self-inspection hazardous substances: http://hazardoussubstances.zelfinspectie.nl/ and the SDS-check (www.sds-check.nl ). The combination of REACH and OSH can improve the workers situation and provide for a more healthier working environment. With education in chemistry, quality management, process chemistry, chemical engineering, health and safety (OSH), project and program management.

Lorenzo is the co-founder and managing director of Chemycal, a young pioneering company that

combines IT technology and human expertise to monitor chemical regulatory systems around the

world and deliver customised alerts based on chemicals and products. Beside managing

Chemycal, Lorenzo works as manager for the European non-ferrous metals producers and

recyclers association (Eurometaux) supporting chemicals-related activities, including interaction

with European and National Authorities and the coordination of chemical-related working groups.

He previously spent 9 years in the European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers’ Association, where

he coordinated and managed chemicals and health & safety industry actions. Lorenzo holds a

MSc in Environmental Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy), a MSc in Chemical

Engineering and a MA in Sustainable Infrastructures from the Royal Institute of Technology

(Stockholm, Sweden).
