THANK YOU NORSTATE! We would like to say a huge thank you to Lauren at Norstate for her very generous donation of aprons for our cooking classes. The aprons have been embroidered with our Grub’s Up! Logo and come in a variety of colours. Our cooking groups think the aprons are great and enjoy wearing them for their FUN cooking classes. Kith and Kin really appreciate the ongoing support and generosity of Norstate and enjoy working together.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Glencore and Mike Carney Toyota for their very generous donations towards the purchase of a shade sail for our sustainable garden project. Your ongoing support and commitment to Kith and Kin over the years has not gone unnoticed. Your generous donation will enable us to make a start on the development of the sustainable garden and achieve amazing outcomes for our clients.

Cowboys legend Matty Bowen came to visit our Creative Learning and Recreation Centre to meet our clients and have a tour of the building. Everyone was so excited to see him and waited patiently for their picture taken and autographs. Clients had their hats and shirts signed by Matty and we had signed posters to give away in the lucky door prize draw. Our Grubs Up cooking group prepared morning tea of home made sausage rolls! After morning tea, Matty had a game of pool with Paul and Paul won the game! Everyone cheered and the atmosphere was amazing! We would like to thank Matty Bowen for taking the time to visit us at our Centre.

Jack and Andrew went to Redback Archery for the morning and had a great time. Andrew said, “Jack was a good shot and I wasn’t too bad either. We both hit a few bulls eyes and had an awesome day.”
BULLS EYE
CYCLONE ELOISE WILL SWEEP YOU OFF YOUR FEET Our dance and Theatre group had their Debut performance at the Townsville Community Learning Centre on Tuesday 22nd March. The group performed for the senior students, their parents and teachers who all responded in an overwhelming way. We asked Le-Anne how she thought the performance went and she said, “I felt comfortable performing in front of other people with disabilities and I really enjoyed it.” We also asked one of our volunteers Melinda and she replied, “ I felt happy and proud to perform with such a great group of people.” Overall the Cyclone Eloise performance was flawless and a huge success and the group should be very proud of themselves! We would like to Thank Dancenorth for their many hours of rehearsal to perfect the performance! We have more photos to come in the next issue of Konnect…

Ann meets Australia’s Got Talent Finalist
Ann Burke met Constantine (Costa) who is the drummer of
the band King Social. King Social are a Townsville band
and were finalists on Australia’s got Talent.
Natasha is pictured after having her make up and hair transformed by Tahvy and doesn’t she look lovely! Natasha enjoyed her pamper
morning as did the rest of the group.
