They design, manufacture and supply optical

sorting machines to over 100 countries

throughout the world. The machines are used

to detect and remove unwanted and

blemished material from products such as

2013, Entek International Ltd manufactures PE battery separators which are used in auto-

motive batteries. The plant exports 100% of

everything it produces.

The production lines run 24x7, continually

mixing and extruding materials into a

continuous polythene sheet, which is then

subjected to various highly specialised in

process treatments. This is high volume

continuous process manufacturing using

capital intensive manufacturing lines and

ancillary site services.

The Toyota Manufacturing UK (TMUK) site as

Deeside, North Wales, is a centre of excel-

lence within the Toyota Group. This site is the

first Toyota factory outside Japan to have

the honour of building a hybrid vehicle en-

gine. The power plant, which is integral to the

Hybrid Synergy Drive system, is wholly pro-

duced at the North Wales facility. Raw alu-

minium is smelted and cast on-site, prior to

machining assembly and testing of the fin-

ished unit. The finished engines are then

shipped to Toyota’s Burnaston car plant in

Derbyshire for installation.
