PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Building identification signs – Engraved panel with outdoor programmable LED. 1.02 RELATED REQUIREMENTS
A. Division 26 - Electrical Systems. B. Division 28 – Telecommunications Systems.
1.03 SUBMITTALS A. See Section 01 33 00 for submittal procedures. B. Product Data: Manufacturer's printed product literature for each type of sign, indicating sign
styles, font, foreground and background colors, locations, overall dimensions of each sign. C. Provide manufacturer's data sheets on panelized LED display systems including
recommendations for preparation, storage and handling, and installation. D. Shop Drawings: Layout and construction of sign cabinet and LED panel display. Indicate cable
routing, connections between equipment, anchor and support details, and adjacent construction.
E. Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Include installation templates and attachment devices. F. Selection Samples: Where colors are not specified, submit two sets of color selection charts or
chips. G. Verification Samples: Submit samples showing colors specified. H. Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements. I. Project Record Documents: Provide quantities, type, and location for components, cabling and

1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing products specified in this
section, with not less than three years of documented experience. B. Authorized Manufacturer Representative: System shall be configured and commissioned by an
authorized manufacturer representative. C. Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing the work of this section with
minimum three years of experience. 1.05 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Deliver and store products in compliance with manufacturer instructions. B. Package signs as required to prevent damage before installation.
1.06 WARRANTY A. Manufacturer's Warranty: Manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of product that
fail(s) in materials or workmanship within specified warranty period. 1. Warranty Period: five year(s) from date of Substantial Completion.

1. Manufacturer: Signation Sign Group, 6840 Shingle Creek Parkway, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430.
2. Model: Custom sign panel 3. Description: Water jet engraved aluminum panel sign. 4. Size: As indicated on the drawings. 5. Material: 1/4-inch thick aluminum plate. 6. Copy:
a. Text: as indicated on the drawings. b. Graphics: provide color graphics. Graphic logos provided by Owner.
7. Finish: Baked Enamel or Powder Coat. a. AAMA 2603 except with a minimum dry film thickness of 1.5 mils (0.04 mm). b. Color and Gloss: As selected by the Architect from manufacturer’s full range.
8. Mounting: Concealed studs with back face of panel flush with masonry. 2.03 EXTERIOR PROGRAMMABLE LED SIGN
A. Manufacturer: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by the following: 1. Manufacturer: Think Digital Signs, 7760 France Avenue South, Edina, MN 55435. 2. Equivalent Product from Electro-Matic Visual Inc., Farmington Hills, MI 48335.
B. Basis of Design Product: 1. Model: Watchfire Message Center. 2. Description: Exterior LED digital color message sign. 3. Size: Nominal 24” x 48” display. Refer to Drawings for layout and overall signage
dimensions. 4. Power: As indicated on the Drawings. 5. Controls: Single mode modular. 6. Communication: Provide fiber optic cable for connection to the building, cable installation
by electrical contractor. 7. Product construction:
a. Cabinet: Galvanized steel b. Sign panel: fabricated from 12-inch by 12-inch LED modules c. Graphics Color: Monochrome. d. Provide waterproof construction.
C. Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70, by a qualified testing agency, and marked for intended location and application.
D. Thermal Movements: Allow for thermal movements from ambient and surface temperature changes.
E. Temperature Change: 120 deg F (67 deg C), ambient; 180 deg F (100 deg C), material surfaces.

F. Controls 1. Provide manufacturer’s standard sign controls with connection to Owner’s Ethernet.
PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Verify that substrates and support structure is in place and properly prepared. B. Verify that required power and data sources are provided. C. Verify that space is available for centrally located components. D. Notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
3.02 PREPARATION A. Prepare substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the
best result under the project conditions. B. Do not proceed with installation until support structure and substrates have been prepared
using the methods recommended by the manufacturer and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected. Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of conditions.
3.03 INSTALLATION A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions . B. Install message center and signs level and plumb with fasteners recommended by the
manufacturer. C. Custom Mounting: Coordinate with support structure as indicated on drawings for mounting
and support. D. Record any necessary changes to the system design.
3.04 CLOSEOUT ACTIVITIES A. See Section 01 77 00 - Closeout Procedures, for closeout submittals. B. See Section 01 78 27 – Operating and Maintenance Data, for additional requirements. C. Demonstrate proper operation and maintenance of equipment to Owner's designated
representative. 3.05 PROTECTION
A. Protect installed products from subsequent construction operations.
