We wanted to fi lter our query by a (Census) geographic boundary but the amount of
trouble we would have had to go through kept us from doing i t that wayhellipWe ended up
using max min lat long
hellipDealing with the Census shapes was the most complicated parthellip
We wanted to compare the data over t ime but had to go through a bunch of work just to
be able to put all the different data into block groupshellip
We spent more than 10 hours converting lat longs from our point data into Census
block- groupshellip (then there is) a 12- digit code that doesnt map to geographic
coordinates
hellipI work with map data all the time but sorting out the structure of the data is a big
pain this way even for me and especially for less- experienced developers

We wanted to fi lter our query by a (Census) geographic boundary but the amount of
trouble we would have had to go through kept us from doing i t that wayhellipWe ended up
using max min lat long
hellipDealing with the Census shapes was the most complicated parthellip
We wanted to compare the data over t ime but had to go through a bunch of work just to
be able to put all the different data into block groupshellip
We spent more than 10 hours converting lat longs from our point data into Census
block- groupshellip (then there is) a 12- digit code that doesnt map to geographic
coordinates
hellipI work with map data all the time but sorting out the structure of the data is a big
pain this way even for me and especially for less- experienced developers

be able to put all the different data into block groupshellip
We spent more than 10 hours converting lat longs from our point data into Census

coordinates
hellipI work with map data all the time but sorting out the structure of the data is a big
pain this way even for me and especially for less- experienced developers
