Riders must have had their 3rd birthday by the show date and no older than 10 years old and must be led by an adult, ponies under 13’2hh Snaffle bridles only and lead reins to be attached to nosebands. Not to be judged on conformation but on manners and suitability as a genuine
child’s pony.

1.It shall be deemed a condition of entry that Mortimer Riding Club,persons acting on their behalf, or their agents, or the landowners shall not be held responsible for any loss, injury, accident, damage or illness to horses, owners, riders or spectators or any other person whatsoever whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever. The committee recommend that all riders have adequate personal, Third Party and horse insurance.
2. Everyone mounted, whether a competitor or not MUST wear protective headgear that includes a permanently fitted, non-detachable retaining harness secured to the shell at more than two points. Such headgear must be worn with the harness properly adjusted and fastened at all times. A riding hat complying with BS6473 or a skull cap BS4472 is the compulsory minimum required. However, British Riding Clubs recommend that the PAS015 standard or equivalent be worn. MRC recommends that a body protector meeting the latest standards be worn in jumping classes.
3. The organisers reserve the right to cancel or alter the event or any of the published information.
4. In the event of an objection the secretary’s decision is final.
5. No refund of entry fees will be made except on receipt of a doctor’s or veterinary surgeon’s certificate.
6. No horse or pony under 4 years of age may be ridden at the event.
7. No stallions or dogs
8. No cantering outside of warm up areas and arenas.
9. Please observe care in the parking area and follow instructions. Leave the area tidy when you leave and clear of horse droppings.
10.No skipping out please.
11. First Aid is 999 call only, so people ride at their own risk.
12. The Secretary may require to see Horse Passports, so please have them available on the day
13. All children must have a parent or guardian present to be responsible for them at all
MRC events mounted or un-mounted. 14. All mounted riders should be three years old or over at the time of the event.
15. All mounted riders under the age of eight years must be accompanied by an adult in the ring with the horse/pony on a lead rein.
16. Handlers must be age eight years or over to be unaccompanied in the ring.
