So its been almost a year now since I first had the idea to put this together. Clearly at the time I was unaware of the amount of work and time it would take, but after its all said and done I’ve enjoyed doing this zine and as long as I have that mentality I don’t see any reason for me to stop anytime soon.
I remember reading through issue #6 of Final Word, and i said to myself “fuck it, I could do a zine”. After reading that I made sure to pick up any zine that I could find. I picked up a lot of great zines while I was on tour in Europe and I even picked up The Anti-Matter Anthology book which after reading that my mind was blown. I knew right away that when I got home I needed to finish putting together the first issue of new noise.
It’s been about 8 or 9 months since I first sent out the interview to Andrew of Foundation and since then I’ve been writing out interviews, doing layouts, reviewing records, re-doing layouts, missing deadlines and phasing in an out of numerous names for this zine. So finally after months of slacking off I finally finished it and what you hold in your hands now is the result. Work has already gotten underway for issue number two. I plan to do a different theme behind that zine and get on a more personal level in my interviews, much like in The Anti-Matter Anthology. Those of you who were around during that time, the cover of this zine should look familiar to you.
