Museo Atlántico is a project of artist Jason de Caires Taylor who aims to create a strong visual connection between art and nature. Designed with a conservationist approach and built with pH neutral materials to create a large artificial reef. There has already been a significant in-crease in species, with angel sharks, barracuda banks and sardines, octopus, sea sponges and some butterfly stingrays.

The museum is 12 metres deep and occupies an area of 2,500 square metres on the south coast de Lanzarote, in bay of Las Coloradas. Visits to the museum must be done diving through the ten areas displaying 289 sculp-tures that raise some questions regarding the use of natural resources.
