ÖWhen it is necessary to expose the skin to this product such as to scan a fingerprint, perform the operation in the shortest time possible.

television or radio receiver.l Keep the computer away from

magnets. Data stored on the flash memory may be lost.

l This computer is not intended for the display of images for use in medical diagnosis.

l This computer is not intended for a use with connection of medical equipment for the purpose of medi-cal diagnosis.

l Panasonic shall not be liable for loss of data or other incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of this product.

l Do not touch the terminals on the battery pack. The battery pack may no longer function properly if the contacts are dirty or damaged.

l Do not expose the battery pack to water, or allow it to become wet.

l If the battery pack will not be used for a long period of time (a month or more), charge or discharge (use) the battery pack until the remaining battery level becomes 30% to 40% and store it in a cool, dry place.

l This computer prevents overcharg-ing of the battery by recharging only when the remaining power is less than approx. 95% of capacity.

l The battery pack is not charged when the computer is first pur-chased. Be sure to charge it before using it for the first time. When the AC adaptor is connected to the computer, charging begins automat-ically.

l Should the battery leak and the fluid get into your eyes, do not rub your eyes. Immediately flush your eyes with clear water and see a doctor for medical treatment as soon as possible.

NOTE l The battery pack may become

warm during recharging or normal use. This is completely normal.

l Recharging will not commence if internal temperature of the battery pack is outside of the allowable temperature range (0 °C to 50 °C). ( Operating Instructions - Ref-erence Manual “Basic Operation” “Battery Power”) Once the allow-able range requirement is satis-fied, charging begins automatically. Note that the recharging time var-ies based on the usage conditions. (Recharging takes longer than usual when the temperature is 10 °C or below.)

l If the temperature is low, the operat-ing time is shortened. Only use the computer within the allowable tem-perature range.

l The battery pack is a consum-able item. If the amount of time the computer can be run by using a particular battery pack becomes dramatically shorter and repeated recharging does not restore its per-formance, the battery pack should be replaced with a new one.

l When transporting a spare battery inside a package, briefcase, etc., it is recommended that it be placed in

a plastic bag so that its contacts are protected.

l Always power off the computer when it is not in use. Leaving the computer on when the AC adaptor is not connected will exhaust the remaining battery capacity.

l <Only for model with Built-in Bridge Battery>To minimize deterioration of the built-in bridge battery, connect the computer to the AC adaptor and re-charge it for approximately 2 hours about once every year.

For UKFor your safety, please read the following text carefully.This appliance is supplied with a molded three pin mains plug for your safety and convenience. A 3 ampere fuse is fitted in this plug.Should the fuse need to be replaced please ensure that the replacement fuse has a rating of 3 ampere and that it is approved by ASTA or BSI to BS1362.Check for the ASTA mark A S A or the BSI mark on the body of the fuse.If the plug contains a removable fuse cover you must ensure that it is refitted when the fuse is replaced.If you lose the fuse cover the plug must not be used until a replacement cover is obtained. A replacement fuse cover can be purchased from your local dealer.If the fitted molded plug is unsuitable for the socket outlet in your home then the fuse should be removed and the plug cut off and disposed of safely.There is a danger of severe electrical shock if the cut off plug is inserted into any 13-ampere socket.

How to replace the fuseThe location of the fuse differs according to the type of AC mains plug (figures A and B).Confirm the AC mains plug fitted and follow the instructions below. First-time Operation

1 Inserting the Battery Pack. Turn over the computer and insert the battery pack (A)

until it touch to the secured position (B).l Make sure no foreign objects are under the computer.

CAUTION l Make sure the latch is securely locked. Otherwise the

battery pack may fall when you carry the computer.l Do not touch the terminals of the battery pack and the

computer. Doing so can make the terminals dirty or damaged, and may cause malfunction of the battery pack and the computer.

2 Connect your computer to a power out-let.

A Open the cover.B Connect your computer to a power outlet.

The battery charging starts automatically.

CAUTION l Do not disconnect the AC adaptor until the first-time

operation procedure is completed.l When using the computer for the first time, do not con-

nect any peripheral device (including wired LAN cable) except the battery pack and AC adaptor.

l Handling the AC adaptor� Problems such as sudden voltage drops may arise dur-

ing periods of thunder and lightning. Since this could adversely affect your computer, an uninterruptible power source (UPS) is highly recommended unless running from the battery pack alone.

l When the DC plug is not connected to the computer, disconnect the AC cord from your electrical outlet. Power is consumed simply by having the AC adaptor plugged into an electrical outlet.

3 Turn on the computer. Press the power switch (A) until the power indicator

(B) lights.

CAUTION l Do not press the power switch repeatedly.l The computer will be forcibly turned off if you press

and hold the power switch for four seconds or longer.l Any changes from the default setting of the Setup Util-

ity must not be made until the First-time Operation is completed.

l Once you turn off the computer, wait for ten seconds or more before you turn on the computer again.

l When the CPU temperature is high, the computer may not start up to prevent overheating of the CPU. Wait until the computer cools down, and then turn the power on again. If the computer does not power on even after cooling down, contact Panasonic Technical Support (è

First-time Operation

4 Setup Windows.Select language and touch [Next].Follow the on-screen instructions.l The computer restarts several times. Do not touch

the screen or tablet buttons, and wait until the drive indicator has turned off.l After the computer is turned on, the screen remains

black or unchanged for a while, but this is not a malfunction. Wait for a moment until the Windows setup screen appears.l Setup of Windows will take approximately 5 minutes. Go to the next step, confirming each message on

the display.l You can set the Wireless Network after the setup of

Windows is complete. If “Let’s connect you to a network” is displayed, you

can select [Skip for now].l We recommend that you set the password after the

setup of Windows in complete.

CAUTION l Set the monitor to landscape orientation to perform

Windows setup when using the computer for the first time or after reinstalling Windows.

If Windows setup is performed with the monitor in por-trait orientation, part of the screen may be hidden and not displayed.

l You can change the user name, image and security setting after setup of Windows.

l Use standard characters as a computer name: num-bers 0 through 9, uppercase and lowercase letters from A to Z, and the hyphen (-) character. Do not use the following words and characters for user name: CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1 to COM9, LPT1 to LPT9, LPT, &, space.

If the error message “The computer name is not valid” appears, check if characters other than the above are not entered. If the error message still remains on the display, set the key entry mode to English (“ENG”) and enter characters.

5 Restart the computerA Touch (Start).B Touch (Power) - [Restart].l A portion of the Panasonic PC Settings Utility func-

tions will be enabled after the computer restarts.

NOTE l When the “Emergency notification setting” screen ap-

pears, read the on-screen messages carefully. Follow the on-screen instructions. You can set the “Emergency noti-fication setting” after the setup of Windows is complete.

6 Update the on-screen manualA Connect to the internet. Sign in to Windows as an

administrator. For further information, refer to Connect to a network.

B Update the on-screen manual. Double-touch the [Panasonic PC Settings Utility]

on the desktop screen, and then touch [Support] - [Manual] - [Launch Manual Selector].

Follow the on-screen instructions.

7 Create the recovery disc.A recovery disc allows you to install OS and restore its factory default condition, in case, for example, the recovery partition of the flash memory is damaged. Refer to è Operating Instructions - Reference Manual “Important Operation/Settings” “Create a Recovery Disc” about creating the disc.

NOTE l To set the password, proceed as follows.

A Touch (Start) - (Settings) - [Accounts] - [Sign-in options].B Touch [Add] under “Password”.

l Set the key entry mode to English (“ENG”) and enter characters. The keyboard layout can be added or changed in the following steps.

A Touch (Start) - (Settings) - [Time & language] - [Region & language].B Touch a language and touch [Options].C Touch [Add a keyboard] and choose a keyboard from the list.

l Remember your password. If you forget the password, you cannot use Win-dows. Creating a password reset disk beforehand is recommended.

l Depending on the version of Windows 10, may be added on the icons such as the C drive on Windows Explorer if the encryption is not completed. The computer can be used in this state. will disappear when the encryption is completed, or the “Device encryption” function is set to off.

Refer to è Operating Instructions - Reference Manual “Advanced Opera-tion” “Security Measures” “Device encryption” about settings.

l PC Information Viewer This computer periodically records the management information of the flash

memory, etc. The maximum data volume for each record is 1024 bytes. This information is only used for estimating the cause in the case when the flash

memory goes down by any possibility. They are never sent to outside via network nor used for any other purpose except for the purpose described the above.

To disable the function, add the check mark for [Disable the automatic save function for management information history] in [Hard Disk Status] of PC Infor-mation Viewer, and touch [OK]. Then follow the on-screen instructions.
