Operations

Loading: The HS-8 X3 bucket is designed to load material that has been dumped on site in bulk form. The HS-8 X3 are not designed for dig-ging purposes. If you need to dig or move piles, please re-attach the normal bucket and keep the HS-8 X3 machine for loading FilterSoxx™ only after scooping loose product. Loading Filtersoxx™ to cartridge: Slide the Filtersoxx™ onto the Filtersoxx™ holder, slide Filtersoxx™ ruck on funnel and proceed to slide loose Filtersoxx™ onto Soxx™ holder. There are 2 cartridges per machine so that one can be prepared for loading while the other is in operation mode.Use only Filtersoxx™ specified by Filtrexx® for quality and secure operations.Be sure to have material in the hopper continually in order to prevent wear on the auger and the hopper.Load Soxx™ directly on to Soxx™ holder – No cartridges needed

Procedures

CAUTION !!: Check the rotation of the auger before filling and operating. Become familiar with the direction of the auger before operating the machine. Top of beater should move away from operator.

8-inch FilterSoxx™:After the FilterSoxx™ is attached to the machine; To start the FilterSoxx™ properly:

1. Pull out about 1 foot of the FilterSoxx™ evenly.2. Tie a knot in the FilterSoxx™ or clip with automatic clipper.3. Fit FilterSoxx™ tightener over Soxx™ holder and hook the two chains so that the tightener is evenly set about 1-inch from the end of

the cartridge.4. Let the auger push material into FilterSoxx™. Caution, driving forward too fast will cause the FilterSoxx™ to fill and / or lay unevenly.

12-inch FilterSoxx™: Use 12-inch cone adapter 1. Take off 8-inch Soxx™ tightener, put on 12-inch cone adaptor using one bolt to hold in place. 2. Load FilterSoxx™ onto cone then push onto auger tube.3. Put on 12-inch FilterSoxx™ tightener and hook the two chains so that the tightener is evenly set about 1-inch from the end of the cartridge.

Filling hopper:Be sure fill-material is free of rocks and sticks or other matter that could tear or puncture the FilterSoxx™. (Follow Hydrostraw / Filtrexx® Specifications on page 3)

Set up and attachments

The HS-8 X3 are shipped fully set up. However, they should be inspected prior to first use for items that may have loosened during shipping. Always brief the operator on how the attachment works and encourage them to read this manual before operation.

Maintenance

Grease the three grease zerks every 10 hours of operation. Oil chain after every 60 hours of operation.

Trouble Shooting

If bridging occurs, tilt bucket back & forth while auger is turning. This should allow material to fall into teeth of beater. Frozen or wet material can be a problem. For best results, do not fill hopper full. Partial loads of this type of material is then recommended.

CAUTION: Never run hydraulics backwards for more than 10 seconds. This could cause auger or bearing problems as the fill material has nowhere to move which could cause stress on the machine.
