Marketing SituationMarketing Situation
According to latest TAT reports, tourist arrivals are set to rise in 2011, even in Q4/2010 however many still question their validity and indeed the changing market mix to more Asian guests with much and indeed the changing market mix to more Asian guests with much shorter average stays is also a major course for concern as room stock continues to rise.
Whilst political issues have now subsided, there is still an underlying concern that Thailand will see a return to action and demonstration in the future which will deter some travelers from the destinationin the future which will deter some travelers from the destination.
The rise of the Thai baht is also a major area of concern, especially from source markets with Euro, Sterling or US dollar based , gcurrencies. Regardless of room rate changes from CHR, prices to the customer have increased by between 10 to 20% due to exchange rate changes rate changes.
