increase Edenton’s commerce and vitality through the purchase and development of the 1896 Ice Plant, which is 4,758 square feet.

Potential development opportunities include but are not limited to; a Beer Brewery, Distillery, Winery, Water-based recreational/retail business, and or restaurant.

Process Town, DDE and TDA will review proposals from

interested developers and recommend proposals to Mayor and Town Council for further consideration.

Town Council will interview developers who submit proposals that best suit the mission of creating commerce and vitality in Downtown Edenton. Factors for consideration include: Business Plan, Investment, Timetable, Job Creation, Proposed purchase price and potential economic enhancement of Edenton and Chowan County.

SuccessThe successful developer will be required to

present proposal and details of redevelopment at a Public Hearing of Town Council.

The successful proposal will create commerce and vitality in Downtown Edenton while respecting Edenton’s natural and historic beauty.

The successful proposal will be accepted and the building will be sold only if Town Council opts to sell the property using Economic Development Statutes.

Potential developers will have 60 days to submit a proposal to the Town of Edenton.

Proposals must be submitted to the Town of Edenton by close of business on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
