TurnOpt™ 1000 FDH

The Opterna® TurnOpt 1000 FDH is a compact Fiber Distribution Hub designed for low-density FTTx deployments. Supporting up to 72 subscribers, the TurnOpt 1000 FDH is housed in a small form-factor enclosure ideally suited for pole-mount installation, as well as wall-mount applications where space is limited. OSP Solutions

12 or 24 feeder fiber ports are available for connection to the Splitter Module inputs, or for direct connection to individual subscribers. The FDH can be ordered with splice trays or stubs for the Feeder fiber cable.

MPO connectivity is also available on the distribution side for connection to Opterna Fiber Distribution Termi-nals. 12f ribbon stubs or splice trays are also supported; contact Opterna for details.

The TurnOpt 1000 FDH features a NEMA 4-rated metal enclosure for indoor or OSP applications, with integral wall-mount flanges. An optional pole-mount conversion kit is available.

Intergrated Collector/Terminal Plate Assembly™

The MultiOpt Collector/Terminal Plate (CTP) combines the functionality of a Collector Plate and a Terminal Plate in one assembly. Two models are available; 72-fiber and a 144-fiber. Both models feature a terminal section that accommodates cables drop with diameters of up to 4.8mm. The 72-fiber model features 6 MT ports and 12 SC/APC ports. One MT port is dedicated to the adjacent 12 SC/APC ports thereby allowing the flexibility of the remaining MTs to be utilized for connecting up to 5 additional TPA’s. The 144-fiber model features 12 MT ports and 24 SC/APC ports. Two MT ports are dedicated to the adjacent 24 SC/APC ports thereby allowing the flexibility of the remaining MTs to be utilized for connecting up to 10 additional TPA’s.

Fiber Sentinel System™

Opterna’s Fiber Sentinel System (FSS) is the answer to the security threats of your optical communication infrastructure. Optical communications systems are generally insensitive to anomalies below a certain level due to its wide optical budget considerations during network designing. Even a very well designed optical communication system will come across undetectable/ unnoticeable signal variations which if not identified instantly can pose a threat to your data protection and information security. Opterna’s Fiber Sentinel System uses WaveSense TechnologyTM to monitor such optical anomalies and provides continuous, real-time, protocol independent physical layer monitoring of a fiber optic communication system. It detects any signal variations (including tapping or signal injections), shuts down instantly and isolates affected path in milliseconds, re-routes the traffic to a back-up fiber path (which will also be monitored) and notifies the network administrator. Fiber Sentinal System thus offers security, network integrity, reliability and redundancy to your optical network.

Distribution Terminal Plate Assembly™

The MultiOptTM Terminal Plate (TPA) is an innovative solution for fiber distribution to living units in a Multi-Family Dwelling Unit environment. The MultiOpt TPA features a plate-mounted rotating spool, on which the fiber tail is stored and fiber cable slack is stored. After mounting the TPA, the installer simply unlocks the spool and pays out the desired length of fiber tail utilizing the supplied pulling eye. The pre-terminated tail can then connect to an Opterna Collector Plate or Collector/Terminal Plate. The TPA may also connect directly to Opterna’s TurnOpt FDH. TPA models are available with one or two fiber tails, with standard stub lengths of 50’, 100’, 200’ and 350’. Each tail is terminated with 12-fiber low loss MT connectors. TPA is available in either 12 fiber or 24 fiber options. Drop cables up to up to 4.8mm in size are supported.

The MultiOptTM Collector Plate Assembly (CPA) is an integral component of Opterna’s fiber connectivity system for Multi- Family Dwelling Unit applications. The MultiOpt CPA provides an intergration point between the FDH and the MultiOpt Terminal Plate, enabling a “Zone” or distribution network design for MDUs. Two models are available, a 72-fiber Collector Plate that serves up to six 12- port Terminals, and a 144-fiber model that serves twelve 12- port or six 24-port Terminals. The CPA features a bend-insensitive fiber cable stub that is pre- terminated with six or twelve 12-fiber MT connectors. Riser- rated or Indoor/Outdoor cable stubs options are available in 50’, 100’, 200’ and 350’ lengths. The MultiOpt Collector Plate is designed to give installers flexibility in selecting mounting/installation options in MDUs, such as walls, panels or exisiting/brownfield enclosures. The Collector Plate includes a ground connection, four mounting holes, and a mounting template/installation guide.

BuildOpt™ Collector Plate Assembly (CPA)

The Opterna® BuildOpt CPA is a collection point for plug-and-play fiber distribution terminals, enabling a complete fiber distribution system for MDU and other FTTx applications.

Two models are available: a 72-fiber CPA with six MPO ports (12 fibers per MPO port), and a 144-fiber model with twelve MPO ports. The 12-fiber cable tails from BuildOpt Terminals plug into the CPA MPO ports.

The CPA cable stub consists of bend-insensitive single mode fiber arranged in 12-fiber ribbons. Riser-rated and Indoor/Outdoor cable stubs are available in 100’, 200’ and 350’ lengths.

BuildOpt™ Collector/Terminal Plate (CTP)

The Opterna® BuildOpt Collector/Terminal Plate combines the functionality of a Collector and Terminal in one assembly, providing integrated fiber distribution in a high-rise building and other FTTx applications.

The 72-fiber CTP consists of 6 MPO and 12 SC/APC ports. One MPO port is dedicated to the 12 SC/APC ports; the remaining 5 MPO’s are available for connection to BuildOpt Terminals. A 144-fiber model features 12 MPO and 24 SC/APC ports; 2 MPO ports are dedicated to the 24 SC/APC ports and 10 are free for Terminal connections.

The bend-insensitive ribbon fiber stub is available in riser-rated and Indoor/Outdoor cable, with stub lengths of 100’, 200 and 300’. The cable management features of the Terminal section accommodate up to 4.8mm diameter drop cables.

BuildOpt™ Terminal Plate Assembly (TPA)

The Opterna® BuildOpt TPA is an innovative solution for plug-and-play fiber distribution to living units in a Multi-Family Dwelling Unit environment and other FTTx applications.

Ideal for surface-mount applications where an enclosure is not needed, the BuildOpt TPA features a plate-mounted rotating spool, on which the fiber cable tail is stored during shipment. After mounting the TPA on the wall, the installer simply unlocks the spool and pays out the desired length of cable tail. The installer then reels in the excess cable for safe storage and locks the spool.

The MPO-terminated tail can connect to an Opterna BuildOpt Collector, Collector/Terminal Plate (CTP) or a TurnOpt™ FDH.

Opterna adaptors are manufactured using high quality, resilient sleeves which provide precise interconnectivity of connector ferrules resulting in low insertion and return loss. The sleeves are enclosed in high quality engineering plastic designed for all fiber optic connector types ensuring the corresponding connector parts dock well and are securely held.

Opterna adaptors are available in simplex, duplex and quad options which cater to the intermateabilityrequirements of any fiber network such as WAN, LAN, CATV, FTTx and testing. Fiber Optic Breakout Cable

Opterna fiber optic breakout cables are rugged, high performance optical communication cables suitable for inside plant installations. Fiber optic breakout cable contains multiple individual fibers each with its own aramid strength member and jacket which makes the cable more reliable and rugged for critical applications.

Breakout Cable is designed for routing cables to different locations and direct termination of fibers in the field. The cable is also suitable for pre-terminated cable assemblies.

Introduction

Opterna single jacket single armored central loose tube cable is a UV-stabilized, fully water blocked cable for outdoor duct and direct burial applications.

Fiber Optic Connectors

Opterna fiber optic connectors are made with precision and high quality ceramic ferrules and provide a highly reliable connection when used with the various adapters. All standard fiber optic connector such as SC, ST, FC which use 2.5mm ferrule and small form factor connectors such as LC & MU which use 1.25mm ferrule are available. Opterna fiber connector series also has multi-fiber connectors like MTRJ and MTP/ MPO as well. They are available in single-piece option which provides ease of installation in field application and multi-piece options that are generally applicable for use in termination houses. Available in Duplex, Simplex, MM and SM options with PC, UPC and APC finishes with standard color coding for ease of identification.

These connectors are suitable for 900μm and 2-3mm cable. They strictly conform to international standards and provide consistent long-term mechanical and optical performance.
