Short Reach Component KitsAvago Technologies is offering “one stop shop” chip kit solutions of Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSEL), Photo Diodes (PDs), Physical Medium Dependent Integrated Circuits (PMD-ICs) of Trans-Impedance Amplifiers (TIAs), clock and data recovery (CDR) and laser drivers (LDs) and high quality multi-channel lenses for Data Center, High Performance Computing and Enterprise Storage networking applications. The extensive chip set portfolio enables short reach and extended short reach transceiver, Active Optical Cable (AOC) and embedded interconnect solutions with leading edge optical, RF and thermal performance.

The GaAs based VCSEL and PD devices are available in multiple configurations from single channel (1x25-32G), four channel (4x25/ 28G) and twelve channel (12x25/ 28G) arrays. Avago’s PMD IC chips sets include integrated

functions of LD / CDR and TIA / CDR chip sets for 1 x 25-28Gb/s and 4x25-28Gb/s applications. A full suite of on-chip features minimizes external components and serves to accelerate customers’ hardware (and firmware) development, while programmable equalization simplifies PCB design and optimizes performance to any electrical interface. Diffractive and refractive multi-channel optical components including micro-optic lens arrays and silicon lenses for transceiver subassemblies complement the kit solution. Avago’s optical device and PMD IC products have industry leading reliability performance and the Avago dependable quality of supply. Avago has developed and fabricated highly reliable GaAs light emitting devices for fiber optic communications for over 27 years, consistently shipping over 10 million devices per year (< 1 FIT) since 2008.

Avago’s in-house InP and Silica-on Silicon technology platforms and diverse toolbox of device elements enable the efficient design and the scalable high volume fabrication for a broad variety of optical ASICs.
