Large, Low Noise CabDesignA wide cab design provides expandedleg and elbow room. Six silicon filledisolation mounts float the entire cababove the noise and vibration of an alreadyquiet machine greatly reducing operatorfatigue. Large entry door and access widthmakes entering and exiting the cab abreeze.

Control PanelMany machine function switches areconcentrated in a panel in clear viewand easy reach of the operator.

Tilting Console and SlidingSeatThe seat slides independently of the controlconsoles to assure optimal joystick positionsat all times. The joysticks canbe tiltedto any of threesettings, allowing theoperator to workin the mostcomfortable position. The entire platformcan then be moved forward or backward forbest foot pedal positioning.

Panoramic VisibilityThis cab provides more window spacethan ever. Even the sunroof is large. TheOperator’s “office with a view” has rear andside windows made of LEXAN®

MARGUARD™. Standard vandal coversprotect the safety glass front windowsand stow on top when you’re working.

Informative LCD MonitorLarge size LCD Monitor displays graphicallya wide range of operating information suchas; engine temperature, hydraulic oil temperature, fuel level, travelspeed, work mode and engineidle. Additional messages includesystem/machine warnings and servicedue messages in your choice of Englishand 13 other languages. Backlit illuminationensures displays are alwaysreadable – day and night.

Operator's Control Station

All Weather VisibilityWith built-in washer and intermittentspeed control, the wiper keeps yourwindshield clear, whatever the conditionoutside. The “rise-up” design takes the wiperarm and blade out of the line ofsight when its not in use, plus lifts the bladefrom the cab surface so that it doesn’t freezeto the cab in icy weather.

Fresh Air Induction-TypeClimate ControlLX provides exceptional heating/cooling ca-pabilities with a climate control system thatautomatically regulates the temperature forthe operator’s comfort. Now with 6 vents, LXSeries excavators provide exceptional aircirculation for optimum operator comfort.Front-side air outlet and defroster ensure acomfortable operating environment while theopen/closetype rear win-dow furtherimproves theventilation.

Inte-LXTM, the intelligent computer commandcontrol system monitors hydraulic output, pressures, and regulates engine perfor-mance for the maximum balance betweenspeed, power and fuel efficiency neededto handle the job.

Auto Power-UpThe LX series can quickly respond tochanges in operating conditions, automatically supplying a power increase, without operator interaction and regardlessof the work mode. Hydraulic pressuresensors detect resistance and pressure isincreased by 9% for 8 seconds. AutoPower-Up stays on 100% of the time inthe “L” mode.

Anti-Theft DeviceYour Link-Belt distributor can set up your Inte-LXTM control system to include a passwordprotection feature that requires thepassword to start and run the machine.

One-Touch and Auto IdleControlWhen user-preset time has elapsed afterleaving the control handles in the neutralposition, auto-idling automatically drops theengine to idle speed (900 rpm). Or, youcan choose to use the one-touch idlingswitch, located at the top of the rightcontroller so that you are always in control.

Inte-LXTM

Operating ModesThe LX series enables the operator to have achoice on how the machine is operated.Simply choose the work mode that matchesthe machines output to the job application.Five operating modes are available.

A: Auto-ModeThe most revolutionary approach tomaximizing power & fuel efficiencyavailable today. Just select the Auto-Modewith the switch panel. Using actual workingpressure readings, Inte-LXTM instantlychanges modes assuring the best combina-tion of speed and power while you can stayfocused on the work at hand.

H: Heavy ModeFor heavy excavation or whenever you needextra power and maximum speed.

S: Standard ModeFor standard digging and loadingoperations reducing fuel consumption.

L: Lift ModeFor lifting and other operations that needfingertip accuracy.

Allied AttachmentWork ModeAutomatically adjusts engine speed andpump output to match additional attach-ments such as hammers. The engine rpm’sare presettable to match the hydraulicrequirements.

Advanced HydraulicSystemTop-of-the-Class Cycle Times/FuelEfficientThe LX Series hydraulic system efficientlydelivers power, speed and control whenand where it’s needed. Fuel consumptionand cycle times are more efficient inswing/dump operations over conventionalmodels. This is accomplished throughreducing system pressure loss, re-usingreturn oil and providing double pump flowduring key operations.

Regeneration SystemBy re-using the returning oil from thearm and the boom, ground excavatingoperation speed is increased.

Two Hydraulic ReturnLinesTwo hydraulic returns lines mean fasterspeed in the system, and reduces backpressure build-up.

Performance2 Speed Boom and ArmThe 2-speed boom lifting and arm openingand closing function provides the LX serieswith top-of-its-class lifting speed especially inswing/excavating simultaneous operationssuch as truck loading.

Auto Power-SwingThis patent pending design incorporatesa selector valve that helps maintainattachment and hydraulic flow to achieveexcellent swing and digging forces in sidewall-cut operations. In normal diggingwhen side pressure is not needed, LXsends all the flow to the attachment alwaysinsuring the best performance for eitheroperation.

Cushioned SwingThis built-in special cushion valve greatlyreduces the shock and vibration at the endof each swing cycle.

Cushioned AttachmentControlIn addition to having cushioned cylinders, selectable cushioned attachment controllets you smooth out the attachmentmovements. A cushion valve in the boomand arm circuits reduce shock loading andvibration during attachment operation.

Free SwingAllows the operator to disengage the swingbrake providing crane-like precision andcontrol when handling loads.

Single Pedal TravelAllows the operator to engage both tracks atthe same time using only one pedal. Thiskeeps the machine in line with the ditch andprovides safety and ease in loading/unloading the machine for transport.

Automatic Speed ShiftingWhen operating in difficult travelconditions, the travel motor automaticallydownshifts from high to low speed forincreased tractive effort and thenautomatically returns to high speedwhen travel conditions permit.

Fuel Tank CapacityThe LX Series fuel tank provides thecapacity to reduce refueling frequency, allowing for an extended work day.

Lifting Capacities (Mass Excavator) w/side frames extended

1. Lifting capacities shown should not beexceeded. Weight of all lifting accessoriesmust be deducted from the above liftingcapacities.

2. Lifting capacities are based on machinestanding on firm, uniform supporting surface.User must make allowances for job conditionssuch as soft or uneven ground.

3. Lifting capacities shown do not exceed 75% ofminimum tipping loads or 87% of hydrauliccapacities. Capacities marked with an asterisk (*)are limited by hydraulic capacities.

4. Least stable position is over the side.5. Operator should be fully acquainted

with the Operator’s Manual & Operating SafetyBooklet, furnished by LBX before operating themachine.

6. Capacities apply only to the machine asoriginally manufactured and normallyequipped by LBX Company, LLC.

7. Lift capacity ratings are based on SAEJ/ISO 10567, “Earthmoving Machinery– Hydraulic Excavators – Lift Capacity”.

Dependable Isuzu PowerAuto Engine Warm-UpIf the engine temperature is low followingstart-up, the auto warm-up system willoperate automatically and continue withengine speed increasing gradually untilnormal engine operating temperaturesare reached.

Air FiltrationLX Series engines are equipped with a dualelement air filter with an evacuator cup andrestriction indicator for ease of maintenance.

Larger MufflerThe LX series features a larger muffler whichabsorbs more sound and makes this thequietest Link-Belt yet.

Emergency EngineShutdownIn emergency situations, the engine can beshut down with the push of a switch locatedon the control panel in the cab. This switchmust be re-engaged prior to restarting theengine.

Engine Product SupportIsuzu North America offers 24-hour accessto their full line of engine parts through 2regional distribution centers, 27 MasterDistributors and 690 Authorized ServiceDealers.

Maintaining engine revolution at a fixed rateregardless of the load prevents the energy loss thatoccurs when shifting cycle times to accommodatehigher or lower loads.

Advantages of EEC

Tier II CompliantLX engines meet EPA Tier II standardsrequirements.

Idle StartAt start-up, the engine defaults to idleregardless of throttle position. This preventsover revving a cold engine, helping toextend its service life.

Low Idle UpWhen low temperatures or other conditionsreduce engine rpm to a point thatalternator output won’t keep the batterycharged, Inte-LXTM automatically increasesthe idle speed from 900 to 1100 rpmkeeping the batteries fully charged.

First In ClassThe 800 LX is the first excavator in it’s classto utilize an electronic engine controlfunction. By optimizing the level of fuelinjection to match the load, this responsivenew system assures more efficient use offuel, plus by keeping the engine closer tothe target engine speed, less lugging takesplace so cycle times are faster, exhaustnoise, vibration, and smoke are reducedmaking the environment in the cab andaround the machine cleaner and quieter.

Electronic Engine Control(EEC)Inte-LXTM maintains engine rpm’s when loaddemands change. Engines equipped withmechanical governors spike rpm’s up-and-down when operating loads increase anddecrease. This phenomena causes enginesto consume extra fuel and be louder.

Low Fuel ConsumptionThe electronic governor responds tochanges in operating loads quicker thana mechanical governor. As a result, EECregulates the amount of fuel injectionaccurately and quickly.

Lower, Cleaner EmissionsLow fuel consumption results in high ignitionefficiency (cleaner emission) and lowemissions.

Low Sound LevelsAt high idle, EEC can control enginespeed rpm at rated horsepower. Thismeans the engine doesn’t overrun, resulting in lower sound levels.

Low VibrationEEC causes engine rpm to be stable, resulting in low vibration.

Powerful Breakout ForcesDeep and wide box sections of highyield steel and deep groove welding holdup to high breakout forces, strong liftingcapacities and the stresses of alliedattachments such as hammers, thumbs, compactors, shears, grapplesand crushers.

Strength and DurabilityLX heavy duty booms and arms haveinternal baffles which provide betterstrength and durability to withstandtorsional loads.

LC UndercarriageLong undercarriages incorporate heavy dutyexcavator style components and improveboth stability and ground bearing pressure. The 800 LX is designed with expandable/retractable side frames for ease of transport.High torque compact final drives keep yougoing up steep grades and through deepmud.

Bearing Tub

Built into the carbody is the turntablebearing “tub” which extends down throughthe top plate and is welded to the bottom ofthe carbody as well as the top for increasedstrength and durability.

Upper and Attachments

Undercarriage

Easy Maintenance SystemChrome plated pins mounted in greaseimpregnated brass bushings on completeattachment make a durable and long

lasting connection. This also makes itpossible to extend the lubrication interval onthis type of pin to once every 6 months or1,000 hours of operation, whichever comesfirst.

A. The surface of the bushing is stratifiedwith a solid lubricant in hard brass toprotect the parts from abrasion.

B. The pin’s surface is plate-processed toincrease hardness and protect fromabrasion

C. The original dust seal is double-structuredto keep out dust and dirt and protect fromsubsequent abrasion.

Three Arm Choices (standard excavator)and a wide variety of buckets provide thereach and breakout forces for optimumproductivity.

Mass Excavator attachment is alsoavailable.

Two-Speed Travel MotorOffers smooth shifting and the needed pullwhen going up grades and making turns.

Strut Type Chain LinksThere are no weak links in our chain. Strutsreduce twisting and hold up to severe pointloading when all of the machine weight istransferred through one roller. Track pins aregreased and sealed for long life.

Track RollersFilled with synthetic oil to reduce heatbuild up and for long term reliability.

Track AdjustmentAdjustments are made easy with standardgrease cylinder track adjusters and shockabsorbing springs.

Side FramesSide frames expand/retract : use inexpanded position only to dig, retractedposition to transport.

On-Board DiagnosticsAn on-board diagnostic system allowsservice personnel to quickly analyze up to148 items in four categories;

•Machine Status: The diagnosticsystem provides a detailed view of pumppressure, engine rpm, water temperature, oil temperature, fuel temperature, throttlesetting and ongoing operating functionssuch as auto power-up and auto-mode.

•Troubleshooting: Service personnelcan trace electrical faults such as sensorfailures and harness damage.

•History: An on-going record of machinefaults is stored in the computer includingthe hour meter reading at time of the faultto assist in the diagnostics procedure.

•Systems Configuration: Servicepersonnel can change machineoperating characteristics such as; timedelay for auto-idle, language selection, and engine rpm preset for alliedattachment mode.
