QUIZZAT
Third edition of Annual Inter School quizzing extravaganza washosted by Amity Saket on 11th and 12th July 2019. The first day wasdevoted to BIZ-TECH quiz (Business & Technology) followed by aGeneral quiz on the second day. Around 28 top schools from Delhiand NCR participated in the event, vying for the overall rollingtrophy. Team from Amity Saket comprising of Swetabh, Tanmayand Atharv stood third in general quiz. Modern School BarakhambaRoad bagged the overall rolling trophy.

Interact Club of Amity Saketorganised the Inter School Script andStory Writing Competition as part ofthe Delhi Schools Literacy Project.
Highlights
Primary students from classes Nursery to V showcased their mathematical geniususing games, models and puzzles during the annual exhibition Mathamity 2019 onAugust 3, 2019. Since Mathematics is an inseparable part of our everyday life, be itin the classroom calculating the sums, measuring the ingredients in the kitchen,counting the money in the banks or going out for shopping, mathematics iseverywhere. The event focussed on encouraging our budding mathematicians toobserve, research and record maths around them.

An interactive session with the students ofclasses 8th – 11th with Brigadier AmulAsthana on 14th August, 2019 wherein heshared his experience of the Kargil War. Brigadier Amul Asthana had led 1/11 GorkhaRifles in Kargil battle. One of his teams wasgiven a task to clear enemy positions in orderto prevent his battalion from getting exposedin the daylight. The objective of thisworkshop was to spread awareness amongststudents about the Kargil War of 1999between India and Pakistan. The story ofvalor and bravery motivated the students totake up careers in the field of defenseservices to serve our country.

Our Chairperson ma’am Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhanbelieves that knowledge about our culture, heritageand scriptures should be an essential aspect of thecurriculum. Following her belief and to celebrateKrishna Janmashatmi, the birth of Lord Krishna,little Amitians of class Nursery presented anepisode, “The Giant Bird – Bakasur and LordKrishna” from Lord Krishna’s life through a musicaldance drama.
Simple, erudite and earthy, the fairy talesgive their message in the most impactful way.Taking audience to the wonderful world offairy tales, children of class II presented twofairy tales, Pinocchio and The Shoemaker andElves during their class presentation.

The witty folk hero of South India, Tenali Raman came alive on thestage at AIS Saket, when the budding thespians of class III enacted the
tales of Tenali Raman during their class presentation and left theaudience mesmerised.

Independence Day celebration reached its pinnaclewith the presence of Cdr Sachin Gade, Lt CdrArchana Maurya, Lt Shivansh Manaktala,LLOG(F&A) Pradeep Kushwaha as the chief guest.The dignitaries along with our respected principalma’am and students planted saplings of Hibiscusrosa-sinensis, colloquially known as the China rose.
UNMESH PATRIOTIC FERVOR IN AMITY
Independence Day fills every Indian’s heart withlove and pride for the nation. To celebrate thespirit of being an Indian, Amity provided wingsof expressions to the students through a mélangeof activities spanning across the week, August 7-14, 2019 under UNMESH. The students fromgrades Nursery to XII expressed their love for thecountry by participating in different activities.

150Birth AnniversaryCelebration of
Mahatma Gandhi
Mahatma Gandhi is the symbol of peace and truth. Gandhian thoughts, principles, values
and ideals encourage our students to always follow the path of truth and have non –
violence. In order to mark the celebrations of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi,
year long activities are being carried out across the country.
Amity Saket has been chosen as one of the 25 leading schools by CBSE to showcase
these activities. There are various activities which are being taken up by different classes
and will go on till 2nd October 2020.
Various activities which were taken up are as follows:
1. An activity on ‘ Remembering our father of the nation’ where students illustrated
Gandhiji and his trademark possessions which he always carried .They listed the qualities
of Gandhiji , values and teachings he stood for.
2. Posters were made on Gandhiji's life by the students, in order to pay respect to the
father of nation.
3. The children were shown a short film on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. Students also
discussed various incidents from Gandhiji's life. They were shown videos on inspirational
stories from his life.
4. Students were made aware of the values for which Gandhi ji stood throughout his life
i.e. Non-violence, Honesty, Simplicity and Unity.
5. Students sang the bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram” in the class and the school
assembly.
6. Children made Gandhi ji's spectacles by tearing paper and pasting them.

He knows over 100 citiesof India. He can identify the flags of 195 countriesand most of the capitals and has made a record ofidentifying the flags of 195 countries in 3 minutesand 44 seconds.
