EFSP Phase CARES Applicant,
The Emergency Food and Shelter Program was awarded $200 million in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief,and Economic Security (CARES) Act signed into law on Friday, March 27, 2020. The law is meant toaddress the economic fallout of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic in the United States.
Funding will be awarded to Orange County agencies providing food and/or shelter during thecoronavirus pandemic. Local agencies chosen to receive funds must meet all of the following criteria:
1) Be a qualified non-profit or an agency of government2) Have an accounting system3) Practice nondiscrimination4) Have a program in place that was operating prior to the start of the coronavirus pandemic in OrangeCounty (agency must have provided services in Orange County for the months of January 2020 andFebruary 2020).5) Have demonstrated the capacity to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs during thecoronavirus pandemic (agency must have provided services in Orange County for the months ofMarch 2020, April 2020 and May 2020).6) Have a voluntary board if private, not-for-profit.
NOTE: The reimbursement period for Phase CARES is January 27, 2020 - December 31, 2020. Allfunding must be spent by December 31, 2020.

The Phase CARES application consists of 12 sections. Sections #3, #4, #10 and #11 must becompleted by all applicants.
