Food Pantry Drive!!

Cross-Line Community’s food pantry is in desperate need of non-perishables. We are asking people to bring donations (canned food, paper towels, etc.) to our church on Sunday, September 6. Leave them in the tubs by our front door until dusk. These will be brought inside our building Sunday night, and then delivered to Cross-Lines early in the week. Please do not bring donations except on September 6.

Church Re-Opening Church-related small groups are able to meet again inside the building using social distancing. Please contact your group leader to see if your group will start up again, and any protocols (limits to size of group, etc.). Contact Pastor Ali with questions. Wearing masks is still mandatory inside the building, as is wiping all service areas; please let Suzette know (office) if you plan to meet so we know what rooms are being use and the calendar can be adjusted, and our custodian is aware. Thank you. Note: Wednesday’s Prayer Circle is now meeting at the church in the Sanctuary from 11:15-11:45am weekly. Come and join us!!

Mark Your Calendars... We don’t have an exact date yet, but there is go-ing to be a “fall auction” type event. Since we can’t meet in person, we are figuring out an alternative way to have our annual, big fall fundraiser for the church. Stay tuned….

IHN Annual Auction

Interfaith Hospitality Network is an agency that assists homeless families in Johnson County. Indian Heights UMC has supported IHN for many years. The annual auction for IHN will be held virtually this year on September 29, from 7-8pm. This Auction is a major support for IHN. Our church is asked to contribute a basket as we have in the past. The contents must be worth $100 minimum. This year the basket’s theme is: “THINGS TO DO DURING A PANDEMIC”. I will purchase items such

as puzzles, games, books, movies, popcorn and brownie mix. The basket will be delivered to the Family Center on September 5. If you would like to contribute to this, send a check to the church with “IHN Auction” on the memo. Please send checks by September 15 to Indian Heights UMC (denote “IHN Auction” on the memo line). If you are interested in purchasing tickets for the auction go to: https://jocoihn.givesmart.com Thank you for your support of this important Outreach to love and care for our neighbors. ~ Carol Grantham
