Oregon College of Art and Craft (OCAC) is inspiring a new model of Art, Craft and Design education in Portland for the 21st Century. True to its 111-year history, the excellence of OCAC’s vibrant learning model, originating from our mentor and materials-based mission, exponentially increases the knowledge and skills of OCAC students and prepares them for any career in the gig, robotic, and post-work environment.
Creativity is the currency of the future and the unique OCAC educational experience is the pathway to creativity for students to become resilient, adaptive, and innovative thinkers, as well as inventive makers.
We know that educational and business models are changing. Think about what the data show.• Today’s graduates will have an average of 38 careers in the
first ten years after graduation.
• The ability to think creatively is essential to success – personally and globally.
The definition of innovation is to do things differently. Creative thinking learned through an iterative process, working with materials to build fluency in informed decision making – this is innovation.
At OCAC, mentor-based + materials-based learning = creativity.
Your support of our OCAC students through the Silent and Live Auctions, raffle tickets, and paddle raise tonight, as well as throughout the year in annual fund support, corporate gifts, foundation grants, and in your estate planning, are critical to the success of the OCAC educational commitment — creating the critical thinkers and leaders of the next generation who will shape the future with their creativity!
Thank you for joining me in the OCAC partnership to shape an exciting present and promising tomorrow,
Welcome to the 23rd Annual Art on the Vine!FROM THE PRESIDENT

The Sketched Earrings are hand-pierced, 18K recycled yellow gold, combining AU’s baroque and webbing patterns to create a slightly curved, sleek, contemporary earring. Each earring is approximately 1” x 1.5” and finished with yellow gold posts and backs.

7. Jeffry MitchellElefant Centerpieces
17
This year’s centerpieces are an edition of 50 handmade sculptures made exclusively for Art on the Vine. An iconic symbol of artist Jeffry Mitchell, these white-glazed terra cotta figures are available only through the 2018 auction and are offered by the artist and PDX CONTEMPORARY ART in support of student scholarships for the College.
Mitchell, a Seattle-based artist, has a close relationship with OCAC through his two visits as an Artist-in-Residence, generously funded by the Collins Foundation. His work is known for its sincere, approachable and tender sensibility, yet the work is packed with an immediacy and intensity that relates to his unique worldview.

9.Wildwood & CompanyCustom Handmade Sport Coat
The Oregonian calls Wildwood & Company’s custom apparel “an experience that will take you back to when suit making was an art form.” Whether it’s in timeless fine flannel or tweed, or something more adventuresome, a perfectly-fitted custom handmade sport coat from Wildwood & Company is something to be treasured.
The winning bidder will need to come to Wildwood & Company’s walnut-paneled, whisky-stocked lounge in downtown Portland for an initial consultation and measurements, and usually one or two subsequent fittings over 8-10 weeks. Many fine fabrics are included in this offering; however, some more exotic fabrics would incur additional cost.
