Emerging Technologies in Mechanical Engineering 2018 (ETME

2018) is held at the Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel (Jeju, Korea) on August

19-22, 2018.

ETME, which is held every two years, is hosted by the Korean

Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME), the Chinese Mechanical

Engineering Society (CMES) and the Japan Society of Mechanical

Engineers (JSME), but it is an academic conference involving

mechanical engineers from all over the world. Mechanical engineering

should take another leap forward with emerging technologies not only

from inside mechanical engineering, but also from outside, based on

artificial intelligence, big data, IOT and so on. In this regard, the need

for academic conferences to discuss various emerging technologies in

depth in the field of mechanical engineering is somewhat late.

ETME 2018 is aimed at promoting cooperation not only among

researchers and engineers around the world but also between all

experts in the mechanical engineering field. This conference will

provide various programs such as plenary lectures, keynote lectures,

oral/poster sessions, and social tour and so on.

The Organizing Committee truly welcomes all participants to Jeju

for this unique gathering in the midst of enchanting environment of the

World Natural Heritage.

Conference Information

Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel is a top-notch deluxe hotel which is located within five minutes ride

from both Jeju Harbor and Jeju International Airport. It can be reached within an hour wherever you

are on the Jeju Island.

Various types of 380 guest rooms which command a magnificent view of mountains and the

sea are in place awaiting their guests. Besides, attached facilities such as the convention center

which can accommodate up to 1,200 people, small and medium-sized seminar rooms, health club,

indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and hot spa, etc. guarantee successful business transactions

Regular

All authors, co-authors, participants from industry, private and governmental research and

development laboratories, independent consultants and technical managers, etc. The regular fee

includes admission to all technical sessions, break refreshments, lunches, welcome reception,

banquet, and a conference kit including an abstract book.

Student

Graduate or undergraduate university students. The student fee includes admission to all

technical sessions, break refreshments, lunches, welcome reception, banquet, and a conference kit

including an abstract book. Students should be able to present a valid student ID/certificate during

registration.

Oral Presentation

1. Time allocation

- Plenary Lectures: 50 min. (45 min. speech + 5 min. Q&A)

- Keynote Lectures: 40 min. (35 min. speech + 5 min. Q&A)

- Oral Presentations: 15 min. (12 min. speech + 3 min. Q&A)

2. Laptops with MS Power Point installed will be provided to each room. Presenters who wish to

use any other programs are kindly advised to bring their own laptops and projector cable.

Poster Presentation

1. Presenters should prepare their posters appropriate for the size of the poster stand. Available

work area is 120 cm tall by 90 cm wide.

2. Presenters are responsible for posting and retrieving their posters. Pushpins or tapes will be

provided.

3. Presenters are required to set up their posters just after the previous oral sessions or plenary

lectures, and are required to stay by their posters during the entire session. After the session,

the posters and associated materials should be promptly removed.

4. The poster boards will be numbered by the organizers. The numbers of your poster board is

available on page 22~26.

Wireless internet is available for the conference participants in the conference venue.

Taxi

In Korea, there are two types of taxis, the regular and the Mobum (black color with yellow taxi

cap on the roof). Usually Mobum taxi runs with bigger and nicer cars, but it charges more than the

regular taxi. You can easily find taxis everywhere in Jeju.

Credit Cards

Major international credit cards are commonly accepted at most hotels, department stores,

restaurants, and shops. Restaurants and shops generally display signs indicating what cards they

accept.
