ASSESSMENT PATTERN ASSESSMENT PATTERN FOR EVERY TERM (2015-16)FOR EVERY TERM (2015-16)

• For English the pattern is

80 + 20 (ASL) for both terms

• For Economics the pattern is100 marks for Term I and 90 + 10 (Project) for Term II.

• For Mathematics both the semester exams carry 100 marks.

New initiatives by CBSE

• PSA will be conducted as done in grades 9 and 10 in the month of January.

• Open Text Based Assessment (OTBA) is a part of the Term End Examination in Biology and Economics for 10 marks.

• ☺Material for OTBA will be provided and discussed in class.

• Familiarity with types of questions likely to appear.

• Error analysis, and re-teaching of answers to ensure conceptual understanding and error free answers.

• Developing speed in writing to attempt the 3 hour paper.

ASL

• Assessment of Speaking and Listening Test has been followed in grades 9 and 10.

• The same pattern will be followed in Grade XI also. ASL will be conducted as part of both the Term Examinations.

OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM STUDENTS• Attendance at school is a must. (Refer

extra leave with regular holidays/vacation - Parents to take prior permission from the

Principal for planned leave. -Medical certificate if absent for more

than 3 days.

OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM STUDENTS

• Understand the need for a complete commitment towards studies at this stage. Avoid absenting during assessments. No retests will be given on any grounds. Exception for the student representing inter school programs.

• Proactively voice out difficulties and seek help from parents and teachers

• Complete the practical record work and similar routine submissions well in time to avoid a last minute rush and hence a shift in the concentration from active studies to submissions

OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM STUDENTS• For promotion to grade 12, a student should

score minimum 33% in theory and practicals separately in Science subjects.

• Scoring less than 33% in two or more subjects is considered ineligible for promotion to Grade XII. In such cases the student will have to repeat grade XI.

• ☺The final result does not adhere to a cumulative average but individual examinations.

OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM STUDENTS

• To compensate for the missed lessons/concepts on the very next day (interschool fests, illness etc.)

• As part of General Studies, students are expected to put in 10 hours of voluntary social work (through the year) either in pairs or individually. This will be graded for the annual assessment in GS.

• Handle peer group pressure smartly.

• Handle stress by communicating/seeking guidance from parents/teachers.

• Do not lean on to unnecessary digressions like substance abuse/partying/hours on the social networking sites/mobile phones.

• De-stress by exploring your talent/skill/hobby- establishes an identity in school

• Support your ward/spend quality time. Parental rife/conflict can affect the general performance of your ward.

• Keep the doors of communication always open• Adhere to the school norms (refer school diary)• Frequent visits to the school/discuss your ward’s

difficulties/academic performance• Field trips are mandatory for students to attend .• Check mails from school on a daily basis.

• Avoid combining extra leave with the regular holidays/vacation

• Stop coaching classes if found performance not satisfactory in school and coaching centres.

• ☺Supervising time spent by your ward on social networking sites on a daily basis.

• Check whether your ward is well-groomed before he/she leaves to school.

• Students are not permitted to bring any electronic gadgets to school. If found it will be confiscated.
