Obtaining your JYU user account –
electronic identication
Before getting access to your JYU user account, your are required to identify yourself through one of the following ways:
• If you have Finnish online banking services with the identification of identity feature, you can activate your account online: https://account.jyu.fi/register/
• Students who are not able to activate their accounts online, have the following options for identification available after the student has registrated the attendance:
Identifying yourself electronically through the Signicat system, where you are required to show your passport or European identity card and live video of yourself. You will receive a link to this service by e-mail. If you have not received this link, contact [email protected]
Manual remote identification is carried out in video sessions (Teams) for those master’s degree students who are not able to arrive in Finland due to authority regulations or those who have been or will be able to arrive but must avoid contacts while waiting for the result of Covid-test. Following failed Signicat identification, you may book time for manual identification by sending email to: [email protected]://www.jyu.fi/en/study/new-student-handbook/remote-manual-identification
These new practices follow the university safety policy due to COVID-19 pandemic.
By showing your passport or European identity card at the Service Desk of the Digital Services (not applicable during the Covid-19 pandemic, the service desk is currently shifting to Lähde Library)
• For security reasons user accounts/passwords will not be delivered by ordinary email or phone.
• User account gives access to ICT and e-library facilities and enables online enrolment to the academic courses at SISU.

Updated information on arrival and
precautions of Covid-19 • Prior your travel to Finland, remember to fill in the arrival form: https://www.jyu.fi/en/study/forms/study_forms/arrival-arrangements-spring-
semester-2021
• At the beginning of August, Central Finland has experienced an acceleration in new cases of Covid-19, and the City of Jyväskylä has moved to the spreading phase that is the worst of the three phases measuring the capacity of healthcare facilities and traceability of infection chains,
More information https://www.jyvaskyla.fi/en/health-care-and-social-services/healthcare-services/information-coronavirus-jyvaskyla/current
• For students who will still arrive in Finland during August, September and later 2021:
According to the Communicable Diseases Act, persons arriving from risk countries must present certificates related to COVID-19 disease and/or take a compulsory coronavirus test.
If you were born 2005 or earlier and arrive from a risk country, on entry your corona-related certificates may be checked, you may be tested for covid-19 virus and your contact details may be collected.
When arriving from a risk country with a certificate of an approved full-course COVID-19 vaccination (no less than 14 days from the last dose) or laboratory confirmation of having been infected with COVID-19 within the past 6 months, you do not need to take the COVID-19 test.
If you have a certificate of having tested negative for the coronavirus no more than 72 hours before arrival in Finland or of having received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine course at least 14 days before arrival in Finland, you will be referred to the test within 3–5 days (72–120 hours) of arrival in Finland.
If you do not have any of the above-mentioned certificates, you will be referred to the COVID-19 test at your point of entry and within 3–5 days of arrival in Finland.
If you have taken a COVID-19 test at your point of entry when arriving from a risk country, you must take another test within 3–5 days of arrival in Finland.
• If you are still in your country of origin / home country and you do not have a certificate proving prior illness or vaccinations, we recommend that you take the first test before arriving in Finland. We also recommend the use of the FINENTRY service before entering Finland. With the service you can, for example, book an appointment for a test in Finland.
Finentry service: https://www.finentry.fi/en/
You can also book time for a covid test when you are already in Jyväskylä by calling: 014 266 0133
