Although Miami University is a medium-size school, we have a big reputation for giving our students the kind of personal attention and career preparation that is hard to find at a large university. Our top priority is teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.

We attract nationally recognized faculty who love to teach. Our faculty will encourage you to get involved — and find out if a major is right for you — by guiding you in creative pursuits, recruiting real-world clients for class projects, and introducing you to internship and career connections. Miami University creates an engaged learning environment that helps students reach their goals and prepare for a lifetime of success.

Avoiding the SealThe University Seal is embedded into the sidewalk in the center of campus (also called the Hub). Miami University tradition is to avoid stepping on the seal out of respect for Miami University history and values. Tradition says that those who step on the seal will be punished by failing their next exam.
