Teamwork Gets Us to the Finish Faster!Attention all STRIDERS! Less than 59 days until the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Fundraising Walk on October 31st. We challenge you to sign-up your team at www.orlandostrides.com and raise $250 online between September 1st and September 30th to be entered in a chance drawing. The winner will receive a Fun Spot package worth $320 — Four (4) Fun Spot Tickets, Two (2) Passes for SkyCoaster Flight, four (4) Meal Vouchers, a Souvenir Cup with Free Refills and Fun Spot Accessories.

Parking Tips Check out these pointers to help you find parking for the MSABC Walk!• Arrive early! You may encounter traffic before the start of the walk. Make sure you arrive with plenty of time to find your parking space, walk to the start, and meet up with your team before the walk begins at 9:00am.
• Don’t forget that some roads will close. The corner of Robinson and Rosalind will be closed to all traffic. If your intended parking location is near this, map out an alternate route to arrive to your parking location. Once the walk begins, additional roads will close.
• Pick a second parking location. Have two parking options picked out before you come to the MSABC walk. If you encounter traffic or a full parking lot, you will have another location to go to.
• Survivors, Top Teams, and Pace Setters will have designated parking available. Parking passes will be distributed in the weeks before the walk.
• Handicapped Parking will be available near the walk start. The October newsletter will designate these on the parking facilities list.

The American Cancer Society will hold its 19th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Fundraising Walk, on Saturday, October 31, 2015. This is a significant fundraiser where the success
depends on volunteer participation to help with a number of tasks.
We need to add to our team of enthusiastic volunteers to make sure this event continues its success. Therefore we would ask you, your family members, friends and neighbors to join our
volunteer group this October 31st at Lake Eola.

$100 could help provide a breast cancer patient with one-on-one peer support from a trained volunteer breast cancer survivor.
$150 could help connect a trained patient navigator to a cancer patient so they can understand their diagnosis and get the help they need.
$500 could help provide a cancer patient and their caregiver with five nights of free lodging at an American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® community when their best hope for effective treatment is away from home.
$25 could help provide free 24-hour information and support via phone, email, and online chats for one person.
$35 could help support three years of follow-up for one participant enrolled in our Cancer Prevention Study-3, a research study that will help us better understand what causes cancer so that we can ultimately help prevent it.
$50 could help provide five rides to and from treatment for a cancer patient.
YOUR DONATIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a powerful event to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer. With every dollar raised, you are helping the American Cancer Society be there for those affected by breast cancer in every community, including those who are currently dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, those who may face a diagnosis in the future, and those who may avoid a diagnosis altogether because of education and risk reduction.

Charmed by Charity In-Store Events
Alex and Ani’s Charity by Design team has created a unique way to
support the community by bringing people together to shop, socialize,
and give back so they can truly be Charmed by Charity. A portion of
all sales during your Charmed by Charity event will go directly to your
non-profit organization.
• 15% of event sales are donated to the designated charity
• A minimum of 25 guests is required
• Lite bites and (+) energy punch are provided by Alex and Ani
• Evites will be provided by Alex and Ani’s in-house creative team
• A copy of the 501c3 and completed/signed event agreement
must be provided for each event
• Events are two hours long and are generally held
Monday-Wednesday evenings
The designated host and the charities local chapter should be listed
on the agreement along with the RSVP email address.
