Acute hepatotoxicity in an elderly patient: casereport
A 65-year-old woman presented with weakness and nausea.Five days earlier, she had been prescribed ornidazole 500mgtwice daily [route not stated] for 3 days for gastro-enteritis.Tests upon current admission showed an ALT level of 304 U/L,an AST level of 310 U/L, an ALP level of 84 U/L and a GGT levelof 109 U/L. Subsequently, her symptoms and abnormal liverfunction test results completely resolved. At a follow-up on thetenth day, she had an ALT level of 32 U/L, an AST level of29 U/L and a GGT level of 52 U/L.
