SECTIONALS

P1 MUSIC & THEOLOGY: This session will be focused on the

relationship between music and theology and why it is

important for worship leaders to understand this concept.

P2 YOUTH IN WORSHIP: This session will provide helpful

insights to Youth worship in our generation and explore vari-

ous ways of leading youths in worship that will help facilitate

greater awareness of God, others and themselves. At the same

time helping youths understand the meaning of Christian

discipleship.

P3 WORSHIP & DISCIPLESHIP: This session aims to put to-

gether worship and discipleship, to explore their inter-

relationship in forming us to become more Christ-like. We

will consider how the church today has diminished this teach-

ing and practice. Worship is more than just singing songs dur-

ing a church worship service. Worship should ignite us into

discipleship and mission as we walk in God’s presence

throughout our day. And it will overflow into our corporate

worship in church each week, too.

P4 PERFECTION OR EXCELLENCE? :What do we aim to

strive for: excellence or perfection? How do we perform our

music and make sure it is not mere technique? This discussion

aims to unpack the infinite nuances of music making while

keeping a heart of gratitude, humility, awareness of grace and

desire for communion with God.

P5 THE ART OF WORSHIP LEADERSHIP : This session will

engage the participants in a conversation focused on under-

standing worship as encompassing all facets of life.

P8 WORSHIP AND CULTURE: Worship is at the center of life

of the church. As we celebrate God’s gift and respond to his

word, we do it in our own context. Dr Lim addresses the is-

sues and dynamics of worship and culture.

P9 KEEPING FAITH IN A CULTURE OF CONSUMERISM: So

much of life seems to be controlled by advertising and the

market. Do Christians succumb to this or can we develop an

understanding of our world and our wealth and seek to live re-

sponsibly? John will take us through this discussion.

P12 THE LANGUAGE AND BEAUTY OF THE PSALMS: Learn

the language of the psalms and how its beauty may be

expressed in worship and in our everyday lives.

P13 CONTEMPORIZING THE HYMN: This session provides

suggestions on how to use rhythm and chord progressions to

explore style when leading hymns. We keep the “old melody”

but make the style new!
