What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea?Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is emerging as one o the most
widespread and costly health issues in the U.S. OSA is known

An Orthodontic ApproachThis course will provide you with an understanding o the physiology o sleep apnea and the current diagnostic
and treatment options, as well as a new orthodontic approach and its protocols. The orthodontic approach is
intended to provide patients with immediate relie rom OSA, as well as changes to the airway that may address
an underlying cause. We will demonstrate innovative technologies and convenient, cost eective processes
to improve the diagnostic and treatment experience. This proram is the frst o its kind in the orthodontic

Instructors
David Paquette, D.D.S., M.S., M.S.D.
Dr. Paquette received his dental degree
rom UNC School o Dentistry in 1979
and a Masters in Pediatric Dentistry
rom UNC in 1983. His Masters thesis
won a national research award that
same year. He is board certifed by the
American Board o Pediatric Dentistry.
He obtained his Masters degree and
specialty certifcate in Orthodontics
rom the St. Louis University in 1990. Dr. Paquettes
Masters thesis in Orthodontics won the coveted Milo
Hellman award in 1991. He is an active member o the
Schulman Group.
Dr. Paquette is passionate about advancing the art and
science o Orthodontics. He has published numerous
articles and lectures nationally and internationally.
Lou Chmura, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Louis Chmura graduated rom Michigan
State University in 1978, and earned his
Masters degree in Orthodontics rom the
University o Michigan in 1987. He is an
ABO Diplomate, and an active member
o the Schulman Group and two other
national study groups. He is also an active
member o the American Association
of Orthodontics, the American Board
of Orthodontics, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the
American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Chmura has numerous proessional publications, has
authored the Orthodontic chapter in Principles and Practice o
Laser Dentistry, and has over 40 proessional presentations
designed to help Orthodontists integrate innovative and useul
tools and techniques into their practices.
Course ObjectivesThis course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to eectively incorporate an Orthodontic Obstructive
Sleep Apnea program into your practice. During the course you will learn:
