– Process for uploading items into RMS from an external source such as • Vendors – via EDI or a vendor portal

Induction Overview Common Template Configuration

All processing in the induction framework, both manual and automated, is done through the use of templates – RIB integration uses a predefined template that cannot be modified

Templates define which tables and columns are created/updated − Each worksheet represents a table in RMS

− PO induction also uses a de-normalized table, which combines key fields from order/item, order/item/location, and allocation tables

− The spreadsheet columns represent the columns on the RMS tables

− Default values can be defined for both displayed and non-displayed columns

− Valid values available for some columns



Use Cases

Line Review

• Styles which make the cut are added to the Shopping List in Assortment Planning, with initial costing and attributes.

• Item numbers requested from RMS

• Item information initially staged to RMS.

Commit Assortment

• Finalize assortment decisions to assort styles by: color and size.

• Item information initially staged to RMS is updated.

Finalize Item Setup

• Enrich item information in the staging area in RMS adding all required attribution

Upload Items

• Upload to RMS as approved items.

Download Orders

• Select a group of orders currently in Submitted status for department and/or supplier

• Extract orders to a spreadsheet for review

Review Orders

• Review orders extracted for approval

• Update orders as needed or add comments for orders that are not being approved

Update Status

• Update status to approved or back to worksheet if further revisions needed

Re-upload

• Upload to RMS to update the orders

PO Induction – Mass Order Approval



Use Cases

Line Review

• Styles which make the cut are added to the Shopping List in Assortment Planning, with initial costing and attributes.

• As part of this process, AP calls RMS to receive a list of item numbers to assign to these styles.

• Item information initially staged to RMS.

Commit Assortment

• Finalize assortment decisions to assort styles by: color and size. Determine buy quantities.

• Item information initially staged to RMS is updated.

Create Buy Plan

• Generate receipt plan by item, date, and store cluster, exploded to store level.

• Determine whether to create bulk buy and allocate later or create cross-dock orders.

• Orders staged to RMS based on buy plan.

Finalize Item Setup

• Enrich item information in the staging area in RMS

• Upload to RMS as approved items.

• Items enriched and uploaded to RMS.

Review and Upload Order

• Download orders staged for subclass from staging. Review data sent from AP and update as needed. Upload PO details from spreadsheet to RMS.

PO Induction Overview

• Provide a staging area for POs which are started in an external system

• Provide more flexibility in maintaining POs (mass maintenance)

• Support for PO related functional enhancements

– Creation of cross-dock POs

• Previously supported only via replenishment or integration from external system (e.g. allocation, AIP)

• Allocations created in the Allocation product are not editable in this framework

– Multi-drop POs

• Common in fashion – where buying commitments given to vendors at beginning of season

• Addition of master PO number which will allow similar POs to be grouped together for reporting, while individual POs still have a single delivery date

• PO Number Service for an external system to request and reserve PO numbers for use



PO Induction Use Cases

Support POs sent from planning application (buy plan)

– Buy plan created based on stores, but PO needs to be cross-docked or built for warehouse deliveries and allocated later

Support business case where POs and Items are being created over time

– Similar to slow item and PO build concepts

– Ability to import a PO that has an item that doesn’t yet exist in RMS (may be sitting in Item Induction staging tables)

– Utilize pre-issued order numbers to allow POs to be started in the field and uploaded to RMS



PO Induction Use Cases

Support mass maintenance of existing POs such as

– Update cost of all items on a PO or across POs

– Change color or location of group of items on a PO

– Mass approval



PO Induction

Utilization of templates to provide the ability for customers to define the tables and columns included in a data file (spreadsheet or XML)

Multiple methods for processing order data in to RMS – manually via spreadsheet import, XML files via a shell script, or via the RIB Xorder interface.

The ability to extract existing RMS PO data into dynamic spreadsheets as defined by the templates.

Manage Admin Data



Manage Admin Data • Leverage a similar download and upload process as is used in the ReSA Data Loading function

• The import/export capability has been delivered in addition to the existing Forms use to maintain the data

– Examples : Diff Types and IDs, Channels, HTS, Inventory Status Types, Codes, and GL Cross Reference

• ReSA Manage Data screen is used to support this function so it is only available to customers having ReSA licenses.
