「学際大規模情報基盤共同利用・共同研究拠点」の活動状況 「学際大規模情報基盤共同利用・共同研究拠点」は、北海道大学情報基盤センター、東北大

学サイバーサイエンスセンター、東京大学情報基盤センター、東京工業大学学術国際情報センター、名古屋大学情報基盤センター、京都大学学術情報メディアセンター、大阪大学サイバーメディアセンター及び九州大学情報基盤研究開発センターの 8 つの共同利用施設を構成拠点とし、東京大学情報基盤センターがその中核拠点として機能する「ネットワーク型」共同利用・共同研究拠点として、文部科学省の認可を受け、2010年 4月より本格的に活動を開始しました。本ネットワーク型拠点の目的は、超大規模計算機と大容量のストレージ及びネットワークな

どの情報基盤を用いて、これまでに解決や解明が極めて困難とされてきた問題に対して学際的な共同利用・共同研究を実施することにより、我が国の学術・研究基盤の更なる高度化と恒常的な発展に資することにあります。本ネットワーク型拠点には各分野における多数の先導的研究者が在籍しており、これらの研究者との共同研究によって、研究テーマの一層の発展が期待できます。

2011年度の課題募集には合計 41 件の応募があり、2011年 3月 7日に東京大学情報基盤センターで開催された課題審査委員会及び運営委員会にて審議され、39 件が採択されました。この内、大阪大学では 2010年度と同じ 6機関が利用しています。

「大規模計算機システムにおける企業利用」の活動状況 全国共同利用施設であるスーパーコンピュータを有する 7大学は、2007年 7月より 2009年 3

月まで、東京大学を窓口として文部科学省の「先端研究施設共用イノベーション創出事業」に参加し、社会貢献の一環として大学で開発された応用ソフトウェアとスーパーコンピュータの利用を民間企業に提供してきました。また、2009年 4月から 2011年 3月までは、「研究開発施設共用等促進費補助金(先端研究施設共用促進事業)」に移行し、引き続きスーパーコンピュータの利用を民間企業に提供してきました。

2011 年度から、7 大学それぞれが自主事業に移行し、サイバーメディアセンターも有償でスーパーコンピュータの利用を民間企業に提供しています。
