HOW SECURITY IBM i2 ANALYST’S NOTEBOOK

All the collected information gathered is presented as entities, links and events. Additional information will be stored in attributes that can be used for further analysis. The analyst can merge an entity represented in different Social Networks and then continue crawling for more information from a single entity on a chart.

The profile URL from each social network will be stored as an attribute and the analyst can always backtrack the information to the source from where it was gathered. When a photo is available, it will be presented as the entity icon.

WEBSITE EXTRACTOR

All the information requests will take place directly from the PC where the Plugin is installed. This way the analyst has total control over his identity and the information that is exchanged with the Social Networks providers.

The analyst decides which public profile to use for a specific search. A single map can contain results gathered from searching multiple networks with different profiles. The results will be joined to the previous chart, and then the analyst can proceed or complement the analysis with additional informa- tion.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

MKCVI OSINT is a plugin for IBM’s i2 analysts Notebook that enables analysts to take advantage of all the analytic features of the product (i.e. Filters and Histograms, Social Network Analysis, List Items and List Cards) with the information gathered from several Social Networks.

Using this Plugin, the analyst doesn’t have to learn another tool. After the installation process is completed, he can start working straight away.

This plugin also includes a tool to extract informa- tion from a Website URL. Besides extracting metada- ta it also extracts phone numbers and emails from the site content. Additionally it gathers the site registration information and represents the Registrant and Registrar as different entities that can be further analyzed.

AUDIT

The Plugin features an Audit Log so that the analyst can backtrack his actions and if necessary go back to the chart that was presented when a certain action was taken.

Information is uniformly represented independent- ly of the social network involved.
