In the iManager T2000V2, there are lot of
terminologies in the configuration and
management procedures. To understand them is
the basic to use the NMS.

ID is a unique identifier for one NE in a
network, the corresponding NE can be
found through it.
NE ID is consists of the basic ID andextended ID, eg. NE ID =extended ID ×
256×256+basic ID.
ID is set by physical switch or software in
SCC board. The NEs which have the
same basic ID can be set as different
extended ID via software to differentiate.
The extended ID is 9 by default. Usually
mention “ID” means basic ID.

It refers to the user defined at NE which used to assign NE operation
authority so as to control the operator to login NE and configure it.
NE user by default has administrator level, operator level, maintainer level
and monitor level with different operation authority.
One NE user support only one terminal to login NE at the moment.
The default administrator level NE user is “root”

The user with corresponding authority for the T2000
client to login the T2000 server (NM).
NM user is usually under a user group with the
different operation authority. Also can under the
customize authority groups or equipment groups.
The default NM user name is “admin”, which called
super user, it’s authority is more than administrator
user group. It’s password should be keep well.

Gateway NE is the NE that
communicates with the NMS via
Ethernet or serial interface by
TCP/IP.
The non-gateway NE and NMS
communicate each other via the
gateway NE by DCC in the fiber
link.
There is at least one gateway inan NM, but many gateways can
be exist at the same time.

Virtual NE is made by NMS to stand for some
unknown equipment, it doesn’t need the real NE on
site to support. Usually, it is used to simulate one
set of NEs or the other vendor’s equipment, alsocan stand for a sub_network.
The data configuration procedure is the same as
the ordinary NE’s.

Creating NE
Under the NE pre-configuration mode, any change of the data
only saved at the NM side, there is no connection between the
NE in NM with the NE on site, also no on site NE supporting
required.
No query function for the pre-configuration NE.
Usually used for the T2000 operation exercise.
After disable this function, the data saved at NM side can be
execute to the NE on site by download data.

Generally, one sub-rack NE in
the NMS is corresponding to
one sub-rack with the unique
NE ID on site.

Configuring NE
Manual configuration
Configure data step by step, in this way the original
data will be initialized and send new data to the NE.
The previous data and service will lost.
Copy NE data
Copy the data from some other configured NE to the
current one.
The previous data and service will lost.
It got faster speed than other ways.

Configuring NE
Upload
Get all the running date from
the NE to NM, overwrite the
configuration data saved inthe NE layer on the NM side.
It will keep the running data
and service in the NE.
In the maintenance, operatorshould use this way to
configure the NE in NM or
LCT.

Query physical slot
physical slot is based on all theboards now really installed in the
slots of sub-rack.
Query logical slot
logical slot is based on the board
installation data in SCC database. Maybe not consistency with the
physical slot.

Configuration of Clock
Clock ID
The lower 4 bits of S1 byte stand for the quality of clock ,
the higher 4 bits of S1 byte are unused, so Huaweicompany define the 4 bits as clock ID, that can avoid the
clock traced loop.
Standard SSM protocol
Fully comply with the ITU-T recommendation.
Extended SSM protocol
Not only comply with the ITU-T recommendation but also
support HUAWEI clock ID definition.

Configuration Data Management
Check the consistency of the configuration data between
the NM side and the NE side.
For the different part, use upload/download to handle.
It will not change the current data, recommend to useperiodically.
Consistency check
Upload: data load from running NE to NM.
Download: data load from NM to NE.

Only delete the configuration data of the selected NE at the
NM side, the data still exist in the NE.
After initializing, NE icon in NM change to unconfigured

Import:configuration data from script file to NMS.
Export:configuration data from NMS to script file.
Can be used in the T2000 upgrade procedure.
