Other People Can Be First
When I do things, I like to be first.
I might like to be first to the classroom.
I might like to answer questions first.
I might like to get to the water fountain first.
Other people like to be first too.
Sometimes, other people will be first to do things. This is okay.
Other people feel happy when they get a turn to be first.
When someone else goes first, I will try to stay calm and let them have a turn.
How to Use• This story was written to help a child who
had a hard time letting other people be first (in line, getting to places such as the sink or water fountain first, etc.).
• You can either print the pages out, or read them to the student on a computer, Smartphone, or tablet (such as iPad) for. My students seem to enjoy viewing it on a computer, phone, or tablet, but do whatever works best for your student.
