How did Nationalism cause the division of the Ottoman Empire?● The very important part of the Ottoman Nationalism is their religion---Moslemism● Because of the Religious and historical traditions, the People of Ottoman Empire
couldn’t accept the ideas from the western countries. Because of this, they are more likely to be attacked by these Western countries.
● Turks of the Ottoman Empire believe in Islam and stick to their doctrinal traditions.WHen they were facing the invasion of western ideas and science and technology, they are more stubborn ,immersed in the glory of the Empire .The turks were reluctant to learn from the Western Christian world because of their adherence to the religious tradition and their rejection of the West.

How did Imperialism cause the division of The Ottoman Empire
● Imperialism---A system in which a rich and powerful country controls other countries, or a desire for control over other countries.Ottoman Empire was an Imperialist country.
● The Ottoman Empire conquered a lot of countries to increase its territory. So it is a multinational country which formed by many different kinds of people .
● The middle class of the Ottoman Empire were Greeks, Armenians, Jews and so on.In modern times, influenced by western nationalism and bourgeois revolution, these middle classes revolted against the Ottoman Empire in order to get rid of feudal rule and national oppression.
● In the 19th century, European countries, such as Greece, Romania, Serbia, Negro and Bulgaria, which originally belonged to the Empire territory, became independent and autonomous one after another. Some areas were occupied by Russia, Austria Hungary and Britain.

Sum up● The imperialism of the Ottoman Empire is one of the reason
why this Empire have many different nationalisms .And this finally cause the collapse of this glory empire.
● The nationalism of Turks are strong .This used to be a good thing. But they were too stubborn with this nationalism .And they don’t want to accept new ideas and technologies from the western countries to improve the Ottoman Empire. This cause the finally collapse of Ottoman Empire.
● So we should learn from the history of the Ottoman Empire. We need to learn from others to improve ourselves. Nationalism is very good, but it doesn’t means to close ourselves just in our own area and ignore other good things.
● Just learn from history, don’t make the error happen twice. Zhilin Liang
