One of the best ways to test the sturdiness of a mailbox is to shakeit and the best time to test it is before the ground freezes for thewinter.Over the year, a mailbox post can rot or become wobbly. By grab-
bing and shaking, a resident can know if it’s secure. Snow comingoff a plow going 35 mph has surprising force, and digging a mailboxout and reinstalling it in frozen ground is no picnic. While the Branch County Road Commission replaces mail-
boxes “obviously” hit by a snow plow or piece of equipment, weare not responsible for “damage caused by standard snow removaloperations”.
BRCC recommends residents tighten screws and test the sturdi-ness in the fall months.

To ThePeople Of Sherwood Township:We now have the opportunity to overturn the
travesty created in most part by the groupknown as Concerned Citizens of BranchCounty.
We need to write James Smith’s name in forSherwood Township Supervisor on the Novem-ber 3, 2020 election ballot He is someone whoknows the people of the area, understands budg-ets and priorities, working with the road anddrain commissions, zoning and planning boards, the fire department, and the tax appeal board, just to name a few. Jim is someone who listensand is very fair; this was clearly shown duringthe wind farm discussions - with equal time andrespect given to both sides.
As I started with, it is time to undo a wrong, write James Smith in for Supervisor on yourNovember 3, 2020 ballot.
Respectfully,Dick Morrill

Frank Snyder is Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, located on US 12 betweenColdwater and Quincy, 517-639-4239, www.cbcquincy.com..
“A new heart also will I give you, and a newspirit will I put within you: and I will take awaythe stony heart out of your flesh, and I will giveyou an heart of flesh. And I will put my spiritwithin you, and cause you to walk in mystatutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, anddo them.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
God describes a time when something supernatural would happen within the hearts ofHis people. They who formerly had been utter rebels against Him would be given a newheart and a new spirit which God would put inside them. The result would be a changedlife!
Some years ago I was an utter rebel against God. I did not like church or preaching orany to do with the Bible. I did like partying, cursing, and causing mayhem.
My mother wanted me to come to Jesus but I did not want any part of that. I told heronce, “I do not want to go to church or learn the Bible or anything of that stuff.” She saidto me, “When you get saved, God changes your ‘wanter’.”
Then God began to convict me of my sin and I repented and turned to the One Whogave His Son to die in my place. I trusted Christ and life changed for me. I found out thatGod does indeed change your ‘wanter’.
