CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 150 Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty firmament. Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his surpassing
greatness. Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp. Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe. Praise him with clanging cymbals; praise him with loud crashing cymbals. Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! . * HYMN 370 “This Is My Father’s World” * PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of glory, you sent Jesus among us as the light of the world, to reveal your love for all people. We confess that our sin and pride hide the bright-ness of your light. We turn away from the poor; we ignore cries for justice; we do not strive for peace. In your mercy, cleanse us of our sin, and baptize us once again with your Spirit, that, forgiven and renewed, we may show forth your glory shining in the face of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Presbyterian Women are comprised of ALL women of the church. We are collecting dues during the months of January and February. The monies received help to finance Presbytery ministries, Santa Shop, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day cards, Sew-ing Circle, the Fall Tea and many other things. Please consider contributing your dues to Presbyterian Women. Make the check payable to PW of Paxton or put cash in one of the envelopes in the Gathering Room addressed to PW of Paxton. Thank you so much for helping us in our efforts to support women in our church and in our community.
Presbyterian Women will be selling Easter photo cards beginning February 21 through Palm Sunday. The cards show the Easter flower tree from our sanctuary last year. The cards are $2.50 a piece. The monies raised go toward Presbyterian Women’s many activities. We will also have a variety of other note cards on sale along with the Easter cards.

PRAYER NOTES SERMON THOUGHTS
SERMON HELP “Challenged to Care”
Five Bible stories about the burden and joy of caring for others.
It is clear throughout the New Testament that Jesus Christ calls upon his followers to care for other people. As simple and basic as that may sound, it can be incredibly irksome and confusing to put into practice. To extend Christian care to a person or group of people can be challenging. Join us on Wednesday evenings at our 7:30 worship service as we look at
five stories that reveal the complexity and richness of extending Christian care.
February 17 The Good Samaritan
February 24 The Prodigal Son
March 2 Zacchaeus
March 9 The Rich Man and Lazarus
March 16 Mary and John

Experience the final day in the life of Jesus Christ by Adam Hamilton.
This will be our Lenten Series starting on February 14 and ending March 13. It will be held in the Kirker’s Room at 9am on Sundays. Everyone is invited to “Commit to 40 days of re-
flection” based on Jesus’ final day. See Jo Jacoby for more details.
