BAPTISM: Prior registration for parents and sponsors is re-quired for Baptismal classes. Class is held monthly prior to baptisms. You will need a copy of the baptism class certificate and the child’s birth certificate for baptism. If you have any questions, please call the office. Baptismal classes are held at 5-7 p.m. on the first Sunday of the month. Two sessions will need to be attended to complete the class requirement. Last Sunday of the month baptisms can be done during Mass BAUTISMO: Se require inscripcion previa para clases de bau-tismo. padres y padrinos son mensuales antes de bautismos. Usted necesitará una copia del registro de clase bautismo y el certificado de nacimiento del niño. Si tiene preguntas, por favor a llamar la oficina. FISH FRY The Knights of Columbus will have their next Lenten Fish Fry on Friday, March 22 from 5-8 p.m. There are no tickets re-quired, pay at the door. Plates are $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under.

Always on the First Sunday of Lent we hear Jesus being tempted by the devil during the forty days he spent in the de-sert. We too are beginning a forty-day period during which we are challenged to repent and reorient ourselves toward God. We face temptations every day that distract us from following the Lord or lead us away from God. May our gathering togeth-er to celebrate the Eucharist inspire us and nourish us in the weeks ahead.
Smarter than Einstein At the conclusion of the Church service, the worshipers filed out of the sanctuary to greet the min-ister. As one of them left, he shook the minister’s hand, thanked him for the sermon and said, “Thanks for the message, Reverend. You know, you must be smarter than Einstein.” Beam-ing with pride, the minister said, “Thank you, brother, but why do you think so? The man replied, “Well, Reverend, they say that Einstein was so smart that only ten people in the entire world could understand him. But Rever-end, no one can understand you!”
“Get behind me, Satan!” I saw a cartoon on this notion re-cently. “A woman had bought a new dress which was very expensive. Her husband asked why she had been so extravagant. She replied, “The Devil made me do it.” “Well,” the husband asked, “Why didn’t you say ‘Get thee behind me Satan!'” “I did,” explained the wife, “But he said it looked as good in back as it did in front.” So I bought it.”

Priestly temptations Once four priests were spending a couple of days at a cabin. In the evening they decided to tell each other their biggest temptation. The first priest said, “Well, it’s kind of embarrassing, but my big tempta-tion is gluttony.” “My temptation is worse,” said the second priest. “It’s gambling. “Mine is worse still,” said the third priest. “I sometimes can’t control the urge to drink. The fourth priest was quiet. “Brothers, I hate to say this,” he said, “but my temptation is worst of all. I love to gossip – and if you guys will ex-cuse me, I’d like to make a few phone calls!
