2016 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal The Bishop’s Lenten Appeal is in full swing, and we are asking every household in our parish to support this appeal to the extent that they are able. During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, let’s join together to do the Lord’s work – works that touch the lives and souls of thousands of people in our diocese. Thank you!

Are You in Need of Catholic News? Included in your set of February envelopes is one for The Arlington Catholic HERALD, our diocesan newspaper. All parishioners may make a contribution using their envelope to receive (or renew) the HERALD. This collection also helps defray the assessment to the parish by the Diocese for the HERALD. Please make checks payable to “OUR LADY OF HOPE” and the subscriptions will be forwarded to the Diocese. 2016 Diocesan Men’s Conference: March 5 Join us for the Diocesan Men’s & Women’s Conferences! All men of the parish are invited to the Diocese’s annual Men’s Conference on March 5 at All Saints in Manassas. This year’s conference will feature Damon Owens, Executive Director of the Theology of the Body Institute; Fr. David Pignato, Theology Professor at St. John Seminary in Boston; and Dr. Michael Horne, Director of Clinical Services for Catholic Charities. For more details see the parish bulletin or go to www.arlingtondiocese.org/men. 2016 Diocesan Women’s Conference: March 12 All women are encouraged to attend the annual Women’s Conference on March 12 with Kathleen Beckman, author of “God’s Healing Mercy,” and Sr. Clare Hunter, Respect Life Director for the Diocese of Arlington. Please check the bulletin or visit the Diocese of Arlington’s Office for Family Life’s webpage www.arlingtondiocese.org/women for more details.

Weekly Calix Society Meetings in the Diocese of Arlington The Calix Society is an association of Catholic alcoholics and their family and friends, Catholic or non-Catholic, affected by alcoholism. Our first concern is to interest Catholics with an alcoholic problem in the VIRTUE of total abstinence through participation in the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. Family and friends participating in Calix are also encouraged to participate in Al-Anon. Our second stated purpose is to promote the Spiritual Development of our members through practice of our Catholic Faith. For more information about any of the meetings, or for help organizing your own group, please contact [email protected]. There are currently three active Calix units meeting in the Diocese of Arlington: All For One: Tuesdays, 8:30 pm at the Unity Club, 116 W Broad St., Falls Church; Our Journey: Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1133 Reston Ave., Herndon; Mercy Abounds!: Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. at Loudoun Club 12, 58 Sycolin Rd SE, Leesburg.
