MISSION STATEMENT
We, the parish family of Our Lady of Hope, commit ourselves to continue the mission of Jesus Christ, to proclaim His Gospel, and to love one
another as He loves us. We are a welcoming community of faith, guided by the Holy Spirit and centered on God’s Word and the Eucharist.
Through the Sacraments, prayer, and the stewardship of our God-given gifts, we provide opportunities to grow closer to God and to serve
members of the community.

Our Lady of Hope This Week
JUST AS JESUS RESTORED SIGHT TO THE BLIND MAN, OUR FAITH IN HIM OPENS OUR EYES TO TRUTH AND ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST
The story of Jesus healing the blind man speaks powerfully to us. Your faith has saved you, Jesus tells him. The man, with his sight restored, follows Jesus. May our own faith and determination give us sight as well, that we may also know and follow God in our daily lives.

LITURGY OF THE WORD
The prophet Jeremiah proclaims that the Lord keeps His promises, gathering and delivering the people of Israel. In the Letter to the Hebrews, God calls some to be priests, representing the people and following the example set forth by Jesus. Mark’s Gospel recounts the story of Jesus healing the blind man on the road from Jericho.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT FOR THE THIRTI-ETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Today’s Psalm says: “The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.” Good stew-ards demonstrate by their living and giving that they understand God as the Source of all they are and have.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR
Congratulations to Henry So, Jr.! This Sunday, October 28, 2018, Henry will receive the St. Agnes Medal of Service at the Cathedral of St. Agnes in Rockville Centre. Following the example of his late father, Henry So, Sr. and his mom Flora-who con-tinues to worship with us, Henry has been a inte-gral part of our parish family for many years. He shares his voice and musical talents with us in our parish choir and often as leader of song. He has also been an invaluable member of the Parish Steering Committee. Henry’s talents include his gift of creating our parish website. He has also shared his photography skills with pictures that we see in our various pamphlets and flyers. The Cathedral prayer service will be broadcast live on the Catholic Faith Network, Channel 29.
